#Nicotine is a poison. It remains so even in mint or menthol flavors. It is especially harmful to the developing brains of young people. All flavors must be banned in all tobacco and nicotine products, including nicotine pouches, as flavors attract young people. #NicotinePouches

Tobacco giant Philip Morris International claims they support a smoke-free future. But their latest earnings report shows they actually increased cigarette sales in 2024 and sold 617 billion cigarettes worldwide. That’s not how you get to a smoke-free future.
The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control is the 1st ever public health treaty negotiated under the auspices of @WHO with 183 Parties to the Convention covering 90% of the global 🗺️population.
The treaty provides a legal framework and a comprehensive package of evidence-based tobacco control measures underpinned by international law that have saved millions of lives including:
☠️large pictorial health warnings on cigarette packages
🚭smoke free laws and
📈increased taxes on tobacco products, among many others.
The WHO FCTC : one of the most widely embraced @UN treaties in history – celebrates the 20-year anniversary of its entry into force this year.

Congratulations to Belgium 🇧🇪 for becoming the 1st #EU country to ban disposable e-cigarettes as of 1 January 2025 – a bold step addressing both #health & #environmental concerns.
@WHO_Europe’s latest study shows e-cigarette use is rising, especially among adolescents: 32% of 15-year-olds have tried them, with 20% using them in the past 30 days.
This finding highlights the urgent need for robust measures to protect communities from harmful substances. 🇧🇪’s decision sets a strong example to follow.

Today, December 10th, #HumanRightsDay, we celebrate the international rights that are guaranteed to every individual. Tobacco and nicotine products negatively impact the right to life, health, education, children’s rights and women’s rights, plus many others. Our obligation is to strive for the world without those products. @unfairtobacco@AshOrg@TheGGTC@exposetobacco@enspbrussels@PartnershipFree
We and advocates worldwide are calling on Philip Morris International, Hearst and Condé Nast to stop promoting tobacco products to youth.
Across the globe, Hearst and Condé Nast’s magazines like Glamour, Vogue, ELLE and Esquire are promoting Philip Morris’ tobacco products on social media. These magazines represent fashion and culture, and they foster large youth audiences. It’s no surprise that the tobacco industry is taking full advantage to glamorize and sell their deadly products.
We implore @CondeNast and @Hearst to stop giving a platform to Big Tobacco — the deadliest business in the world.
