Eskom regrets to inform customers in the Howick area of an overrun of the planned outage. The outage will now extend until 13:00 today.

Supply has been restored to some customers, while others are currently experiencing intermittent supply since 05:00 this morning.

Eskom KZN wishes to inform Customers in Howick of a planned power outage taking place on 29 September 2026 starting at 05:00 until 19:00 on Elandskop Ariadne 1, 132kV line.

Power supply to the following areas will be interrupted: IMpendle, part of Duggle, part of Nottingham Road, Bulwer town, Nkwezela, Nkelabantwana, Ndawana, Donnybrook, Mahwaqa, Makholweni, Underberg, Stepmore, Rainbow Lakes, Inkunzi, Part of KwaMpande, Umsunduzi, Khobongwaneni, Taylors, Gudlintaba, eHashini , Qanda and Dindi.

Should the outage not take place as planned, the alternate date is 06 October 2026 at 05:00 to 19:00.

Eskom apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank our customers for their patience and understanding for the duration of the outage.

⚠️For safety reasons, customers are urged to always treat all electrical infrastructure as live.

Months of questioning, researching, testing and refining ideas have brought young scientists from South Africa and around the world to the 2026 Eskom Expo for Young Scientists International Science Fair (ISF), where their research will take centre stage and new opportunities await.

The opening of ISF saw 316 South African young scientists from 35 regions across all nine provinces, joined by 24 international participants from Brazil, India, Ireland, Russia, Lesotho, Namibia, China, Türkiye, Tunisia, Mozambique, and Ghana, attending both in person and virtually, come together at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre from 29 September to 2 October.

Their arrival marks the culmination of a journey that, for South African participants, has included workshops, compulsory District Expos, Regional Science Fairs, judging, feedback and further project development.

The following areas are affected: Bochum Location, Bochum Phase 2,Overdyk and Helen Frans Hospital.
