We are thrilled to announce that the top prize of the night, the Overall National Fáilte Ireland Conference Ambassador of the Year Award, was proudly claimed by none other than our own esteemed ambassador, Professor @Peter_E_McHugh, University of Galway. A heartfelt congratulations to Peter for this remarkable achievement, specifically for his exceptional efforts in orchestrating the ESMC2022 conference. This recognition underscores the University of Galway's dedication to hosting events of unparalleled quality and significance.
In another moment of glory, Frances Fahy and @krgeography of University of Galway were rightfully acknowledged with the Inaugural Spotlight Award for Sustainability. Their exemplary work in organizing the 7th Congress of the Association of Geographical Societies in Europe Conference exemplifies the university's commitment to environmental responsibility and global impact.
Adding to the triumph, the Galway region was recognized with the Galway Regional Conference Ambassador Award. This award is a testament to the exceptional caliber of conference ambassadors in Galway and positions the city as a hub for conferences of national importance.
The accolades didn't stop there. Fáilte Ireland honored all other Galway ambassadors, highlighting the collective dedication and excellence of the entire team. This achievement not only reflects the commitment of individual ambassadors but also the collaborative spirit and supportive environment fostered by the University of Galway.
The Fáilte Ireland Conference Ambassador Awards 2023 showcased the significant impact of conferences on the national economy, with a staggering €125 million contribution from 2018-2022.
