Truly honored to have helped author our newest brief. Undocumented immigrant workers have always contributed to, and uplifted our Golden State. To honor their humanity and labor, we must build an economy that fully includes, and works for all Californians: https://t.co/F9A2vwIqcv
📢NEW BRIEF: We just launched a publication with first-of-its-kind research on one of the biggest barriers to good jobs facing undocumented immigrant workers - work authorization restrictions on access to workforce development services.

We are thrilled to celebrate the first year of our Regional Organizing Cohort (ROC) in Fresno! 🎉
During the celebration, every participant shared their ROC journey, their accomplishments, lessons learned, & the campaigns they are leading in their communities.
Earlier today, Gov. Newsom released his May revised budget proposal for the fiscal year 2026-27.
While we give the governor credit for funding programs that support immigrant communities, this proposal falls far short in investing in the health and safety of immigrants.
Great News! SB 1149, Bereavement Leave for Chosen or Extended Family, makes it out of appropriations with unanimous bipartisan support and heads to the California State Senate floor.
Thank you advocates for speaking up and @SenMariaEDurazo for your leadership.
No Californian should experience hunger – no matter their age or where they were born. The #Food4All coalition will be at @lafoodbank to respond to @cagovernor ‘s proposed state budget.
Tune into the livestreams @nourishcalifornia (IG) or @caimmigrant (FB) Thursday!

Trump’s tax bill is so unpopular not even Ariana Grande in Wicked could help.
70% agreed the legislation would help the wealthy, & more than half said it would hurt:
💪 the working class
👴 people collecting Social Security
📉 the economy
💲the federal deficit
🏥 🍎 recipients of Medicaid and nutrition assistance
The Trump administration just revealed efforts to cut workers’ wages, make workers less safe, and legalize exploitation. This is what a War on Workers looks like.
@propublica's investigation of the IRS-DHS data sharing agreement confirms what 90+ Members of Congress told the Appeals Court—DHS is seeking 7 million immigrant taxpayer IRS records in violation of taxpayer confidentiality laws. This is blatantly illegal.

Congress is about to pass massive tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest Americans.
In three states, the richest 1% could gain an average of more than $100,000 worth of tax cuts in just one year.

SB 81, which would ensure that health facilities are safe spaces off limits for immigration enforcement, passed in the Senate floor! 🎉
Our Supervising Policy Manager, Bruno Huizar, says every Californian should be able to access medical care without the risk of deportation.
After paying for gas, insurance, maintenance, and waiting around unpaid, many gig rideshare drivers make less than minimum wage. With a union, drivers can fight for fair pay — every mile, every day. It's time for gig rideshare drivers to have a voice on the job #YesonAB1340
Today we joined members of the #Health4All coalition, including @healthaccess and impacted community members in visiting legislators’ offices at the Capitol to urge them to reject the proposed cuts to Medi-Cal under Governor Newsom’s May revise budget.
