During a recent visit, ICRC Deputy Director for Africa James Reynolds shared on the humanitarian situation and concerns about the growing needs. ⬇️

Recently we distributed food and non-food items to 9,000 people, mostly Sudanese refugees and South Sudanese returnees in Gok Machar, Northern-Bahr-Al Ghazal State.
The items, including sorghum, beans, cooking oil, salt, and sugar, will help meet their immediate food needs.
A big relief to escort patients to safety to receive medical care.
Yet, 1000s of critically injured people remain in hospitals across #Gaza.
With the human cost getting heavier by the day, medical structures, vehicles & teams are critical lifelines. They must be protected.
Our thoughts are with those affected by the earthquake in #Morocco. We wish to express our deepest condolences to those who have lost a loved one.
We’re supporting @MaMrcs and @IFRC in their work to help restore family contact and carry out critical forensic work.
Peace is back in northern #Ethiopia, yet huge humanitarian needs remain.
I’m visiting #Tigray, where the conflict caused immense suffering for the population. The humanitarian consequences are severe. And more aid is needed to protect and assist the affected people. #Mekelle

"What they want to do with this dance is tell their loved ones the good news that has happened to them during their life."

On #InternationalWomensDay my thoughts also go to the young and older generations of #women in #Lebanon, as they struggle to make ends meet, painfully watch the futures of their children shattered, the collapse of the middle class + increased poverty taking hold of the country
It is crucial for our teams to be able to move safely to deliver humanitarian aid.
Transport and logistics are at the heart of our operations.
Our fleet enables us to reach affected people we assist across #SouthSudan including remote and rural parts of the country.

Yesterday, our team in Maiduguri airlifted two civilians who were wounded in Monday's attack in Monguno for emergency care.
Medical evacuations are an essential part of our humanitarian response, helping the wounded access life-saving care.

@rollurslivz
Would you imagine not knowing the whereabouts of your loved ones?
Together with our partners, Sudanese Red Crescent, we're helping reconnect families that were separated following the fighting in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Returning from #Rwanda where I presented our heartfelt condolences to the family & friends of Saidi, killed during the attack on #Aden airport. Sad and heartbreaking, we’ll miss him
May his soul rest in peace.
