We're really happy to announce that after 2 years, thanks to @OctopusEnergy we've got a #heatpump installed and can now #stopburningstuff!
The Octopus engineers have done a really neat job.
4 of 10 old radiators were replaced, the old boiler removed & a hot water cylinder added
Saw this car and thought, what, a Kia Exceed Electric? With two exhaust pipes? DVLA shows this as hybrid with CO2 emission rating. How does this have a green number plate?
Can anyone (maybe a meteorologist) explain why with solar power, days with sunny intervals seem to always have higher peak power than completely sunny days (3.5kWp Vs 3.0kWp, only 2 days apart)?
Are sunny days always slightly hazy (we're close to the sea)?
@eu_bike It could well be that, however, even on that second image, you can see a short spike, higher than the rest, after just a short overcast period. Unless that's enough time to cool down the panels, and heats back up in a few minutes?
We need infrastructure so here’s the UK’s second electric forecourt (these guys also have the 1st) The landscape is changing very quickly on the electric car scene. 36 x 350kW units under cover plus more AC units. It’s getting rather easy driving an electric car these days ❤️
Exeter Services. Contactless, accessible, plentiful and reliable. I’m not sure I need to add anything to this apart from @ElecHighway - we appreciate this, it makes life a whole lot less stressful ❤️
Hey @sainsburys Westwood Cross. For more than 3 years only 3 of the 6 @Pod_Point charge points are working. As you can see it's busy and 2 of the cars couldn't charge.
@B_McBeardface What makes the solar work is the Powerwalls are providing an internal grid, which the solar inverters sync to and carry on running & excess charges the Powerwalls until full.
Maybe a way to put a switch in to disconnect from the grid, but getting the inverter going is hard
@B_McBeardface The Powerwalls actually change the frequency of the power when they're full, which forces the solar inverter to shut down until the batteries are lower on charge. When the grid comes back it syncs with the grid and reconnects.
The power did go out due to some huge gusts of wind in Margate #StormEunice. Good to know the @tesla#powerwall batteries will last at least a day powering the house. We've had 6 power cuts already in the last 45 minutes, but the batteries continue to power the house.
Stay safe!
Hopefully everyone stays safe during #StormEunice tomorrow.
Thanks to @Tesla for turning on Storm Mode on our Powerwalls, which charges the batteries to full and keeps them there until the storm passes, in case there're any power outages. Well timed so the battery is already full
"I was thinking this is going to be boring, give me back my #diesel motor - but no, Im quite happy, I think I'll stick with it,"
"Ive got 4 grandchildren. I believe this is the way forward, its easier to drive, its not polluting & its cheaper to run." https://t.co/0bQrOiLr9W #EV
Awesome new public chargers in Dundee. They rise up out of the pavement when you summon them with the App ! 7 kw up to 4 hours parking. So about 100 miles of range possible. Excellent solution for city centre. #stopburningstuff @bobbyllew
Our #RemotePower units can generate, store, and then distribute net zero energy for EVs in places where there’s no grid connection.
They’re also modular, making them infinitely configurable & they utilise smart management software, so you can operate them from anywhere.
Loving the @tesla software update, finally waypoints! Not only waypoints, but routing to chargers all the way along the route, the amount of charge and the times you'll get there. This is not easy to implement.
If you select your home as the first destination it does a roundtrip
