Redrawing borders along tribal, ethnic or clan lines won’t bring peace, it invites fragmentation.
Africa is home to thousands of ethnic groups, many with overlapping claims and histories of conflict. The push for micro-states risks undoing decades of progress and turning the continent into a patchwork of unstable and fragile entities - a perfect breeding ground for terrorism.
Safeguarding existing states isn’t just about sovereignty, it’s about protecting regional stability, political coherence, and long-term peace.

✅ What’s #Somaliland?
Here’s a very important 101 history lesson about #Somaliland—because it is not what people have been led to believe for the last 35 years.
Somaliland is the land of Somalis.
A UN documentary on the 10-year Italian Trusteeship clearly shows the process of preparation for independence in 1960 and the unity of the Somali people. There was no separate destiny, no clan-based state project—only a shared national path.
Single-clan separatists should take note. History is documented, recorded, and cannot be rewritten to fit political fantasies.
‼️ TERROR ALERT: Emerging Extremist Indicators Require Immediate Attention
A recently circulated video shows five individuals from the Isaaq separatist milieu, reportedly led by a Swedish citizen identified as Zakariya Saajin, publicly pledging allegiance to Al-Shabaab. This development raises serious security concerns and must be treated with urgency.
Two elements are particularly alarming:
1. Location:
The video was filmed in Bali-Gubadle, “#Somaliland” a site of symbolic and operational significance. It is widely known as the birthplace of Ahmed Abdi Godane, the former Al-Shabaab leader, and the area where early Al-Shabaab training activities were first established before the group shifted operations to southern Somalia.
2. Historical Pattern:
Extremist recruitment and leadership networks linked to “#Somaliland have previously played a disproportionate role in Al-Shabaab’s command structure. This history makes any new ideological mobilization from the same regions a matter of legitimate national security concern.
Israel Alignment Factor
There are growing fears that political isolation, radicalization, unemployment, and external geopolitical alignments could create fertile ground for extremist networks to recruit vulnerable youth, destabilize Somalia, and undermine recent security gains.
🚨🚨THIS IS HUGE🚨🚨
Isaaq clan separatists “Somaliland” region & Al-Shabab–linked terrorists re-enter Hargeisa and Burco right after Israel’s so-called “recognition.”
Coincidence?
Unlikely. 👀🔥
🚨‼️ #BreakingNews
New Al-Shabab terror camps exposed in Hargeisa in Separatist Somaliland region emerging after Israel’s so-called “recognition.”
Sources warn these cells are issuing threats against American 🇺🇸 and Israeli 🇮🇱 civilians, turning the region into a launchpad for global terror.
The world must act. Terror safe havens cannot be ignored.
𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚_𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦🚨
Widespread protests have erupted in Burao following Israel’s alleged actions over the country’s sovereignty gained momentum.
Burco, the capital of the Togdheer region in northern Somaliland, Somalia, saw thousands of protesters fill the central streets today, condemning Israel’s recognition and rejecting reports that Israel is seeking to bring foreign mercenaries into the region.
Demonstrators also criticized the Somaliland administration and others they believe are involved in the issue.
Protests have spread across Somalia as citizens voice strong opposition to what they describe as threats to national sovereignty.
This comes after Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismail, one of Somalia’s most respected scholars, emphasized the importance of Somali unity. He stated that dividing Somalia and its people is forbidden, adding:
"Injustice does not justify harming our brothers, nor can it be used as an excuse to support the oppressor.

The so-called Somaliland administration, which in reality operates as a rebel entity within Somalia, continues to display deeply troubling behavior. Their actions reflect a lack of basic civility and respect. I sincerely apologize to our Muslim brother for having to witness such conduct.
Heavy fighting as Awdal Somali's successfully kill many separatists militias who call themselves Somaliland. Asking them to leave their land now. This is welcome news. The separatists do not even have control of 10% of Somalia. I urge the Somalis to not stop and to press ahead.
🚨 Former Somali PM @AliMGedi has spoken in detail about the inhumane conditions and lack of medical care facing abducted civilians from North Eastern Somalia who are languishing in separatist jails.
He rightly noted that NES released over 30 PoWs on humanitarian grounds. Yet, according to @ICRC Somalia, the Hargeisa administration promised to release 5 detained civilians, notified their families—who traveled long distances—only for @Abdirahmanirro to block the release at the last minute.
For the past three years, we have witnessed the UK government, INGOs, and the Somalia Federal Government actively advocating for the release of war criminals held in Las Anod. Meanwhile, there has been complete silence regarding the abducted civilians held in “Somaliland” prisons.
Former PM #Gedi is the first Somali politician to openly expose both the conditions of these detainees and the separatists’ breach of agreements.
I am deeply disappointed that the NES leadership withheld this critical information from the public.
