@DrCameronMurray What about liquidity issues, market fluctuations, valuation costs, it blurs the line between capital and income, opening door to removing cgt discount (discouraging investment) and taxing currently non taxable assets. It’s a mess.
@TerryBitmas@rationalaussie@LawrenceLepard Printing money typically lowers government bond yields in the short term by increasing demand for bonds. However, over the long term, it can raise yields if inflation expectations rise.
Solana: Raises tens of millions in premined SOL from VCs and industry insiders. Funds an ad that probably costs millions and has to delete it within 12 hours.
Bitcoin: Has @bitstein, who makes masterpieces like this in his spare time for free.
“The only reason that you don’t have what you want is because you didn’t really want it.
The only reason that you have the things that you do is because you couldn’t live without them.
And the only reason that you are, where you are, is because somewhere within you it is ok for you to be there.” —Kapil Gupta
The problem with the NDIS isn't the fraud.
It's the fact that it exists. The fraud just makes it worse.
NDIS is using taxpayer dollars to pay healthy people to do unproductive work for unhealthy people who are rewarded for doing LESS rather than more to help themselves.
It's a productivity destroying triple whammy.
And no, before you accuse me of being heartless and uncaring, that's not true at all.
Here's the uncomfortable truth: Misplaced welfare HURTS us all, it doesn't help.
Consider: Human living standards are dictated by our productivity, whether you like it or not. That means that humans, on average, can only consume as much as we produce, on average.
THEREFORE anything which unnecessarily reduces productivity ALSO reduces quality of life!
Taking money from productive people, to divert other productive people into unproductive work, done in large part for people who COULD do more to help themselves, but now don't because the NDIS REWARDS them for 'needing' more... means that we're stripping Australia of productive work which would make ALL our lives better.
So the people committing NDIS fraud are not a CAUSE of NDIS waste, they're just a different kind.
Unpopular opinion? Sure. But it's the truth.
Charity work is wonderful, and no one who truly NEEDS help should be left without it, but charity should be done with donated time, not paid time, and it certainly shouldn't be done with productive tax money put to unproductive use.
Bitcoin, not the S&P 500, is your new benchmark for investing. It’s the ultimate store of value. The sooner you understand this, the sooner you’ll preserve your wealth and time in the most effective way.

Australians hate it when other people get ahead in life (known as tall poppy syndrome).
And they love it when the government makes new rules to follow (known as convict syndrome).
I can’t wrap my head around this mentality.
Australia is so ripe for a populist third party alternative its not funny.
And if that figure played their cards right they wouldn't need a traditional media spend, others would inadvertently give them all the publicity they could want.
Some points that people can consider for making a submission.
It’s a national ID card by stealth. It’s also a mechanism to control free speech by identifying it. It’s a security risk if implementing using current KYC techniques with foreign platforms gaining ID and biometrics. If using a MyGovID approach will be the basis of surveillance infrastructure. It’s a human rights issue. It will stunt the education, economic development and maturity of australia kids. It abrogates parents rights and the government is now a co parent. Accounts will have to be closed for 900,000 kids which will be millions of accounts. It is being implemented in an underhanded, deceitful and undemocratic way. Combined with other legislation they are trying to ram through will set up an Orwellian environment for government control of free speech. And it’s the thin edge of the wedge on where this is going.
If you think this is benign you’re gravely mistaken. It wouldn’t be rammed through like this if it was. It is about control.
