Thank-you Edgemont Parent Council for purchasing these break-away mask lanyards for all of our students! Grade 3 will be using them/leaving them at school so they are used to keep our masks safe and accessible while we are outside! @EdgemontCBE

Students may choose to wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday October 29! We ask that students come dressed in their costumes (no changing at school). Please make sure they can still wear their face masks with their costumes. NO scary or violent costumes please!

It was great seeing students dressed for the weather today! We will be out daily for PE & engaging in learning on the land. Layers, warm mittens & a hat are necessary on those chilly days to engage in learning comfortably & safely. Snow pants & boots are great too! @EdgemontCBE

Last week we explored the world through creativity and imagination after the read aloud “Ish”. They created flower-ish, snake-ish, and dragon-ish pictures to name a few! Pictures will be used as part of our Imagination pocket writing later in the year!#edgemontstory

Today we continued documenting our biofacts as Scientific Illustrators and explore, “How are rocks and minerals part of the story of our collections?” As explorers what did we notice and wonder about our object? #EdgemontStory @EdgemontCBE

In class today we respectfully collected fallen biofacts from the land. Students noticed patterns, colours & textures, & can now greet many of our plant relatives by name. We are coming to know wolf willow, yarrow, rosehip & sage by looking closely & thinking deeply

Reminder that we have Phys Ed outside tomorrow morning. Please ensure your student is prepared for the always changing weather! Layers are a good idea for cooler mornings and warm afternoons. Mittens and toques are a good idea too!

We had a beautiful day and an amazing walking field trip learning on the land at Edgemont Ravine! We worked on vocabulary building through our sense. "The leaves are a golden yellow and amber shade." #EdgemontStory @EdgemontCBE
