Exciting new preprint alert! Our latest research is a tour de force exploring the biology of centriolar satellites, membrane-less organelles essential for development and physiology. Below tweets summarize our findings; full paper here 👇

Sorry to miss #cellbio2024 as my 5-month-old isn't quite ready for transatlantic flights, But Cytolab is still represented! Don't miss @EfeBegar's microsymposium talk & poster on centriolar satellites and @b_asakturan's poster on non-ciliary functions of ciliopathy proteins.
We are happy to contribute to a new paper by @KaplanOLab, which generated the Ciliogenics database for predicting novel ciliary genes. @EfeBegar used localization and loss-of-function experiments to validate new ciliary proteins in mammalian cells. @NAR_Open
Our latest review article on navigating the biology of centriolar satellites is out in @FEBSJournal! It focuses on their diverse functions and mechanisms across cells, organisms and their links to disease. Congratulations @EfeBegar&Ece! https://t.co/tlouLDGT7k
Please #RT! We are very pleased to announce that registration for #EMBOCentrosomes is now live- https://t.co/djOdg0nXaK!
Join us in Istanbul September 26-29 2023 for the largest #centrosome meeting- great lineup of speakers & plenty of talk slots to be selected from abstracts.
2 times ERC winner!
Assoc. Prof. Elif Nur Fırat Karalar from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics received her 2nd ERC starting grant to study Spatiotemporal regulation of centriolar satellite homeostasis.
We wholeheartedly congratulate her exceptional achievement.
Today, @CaydasiLab and I just submitted the application for the #Centrosomes2023 "Centrosomes in Development, Disease and Evolution" workshop that will take place in Istanbul between 26-29th September in 2023. Fingers crossed for a positive evaluation of our application to @EMBO!
The ciliopathy-linked protein CCDC66 is only known for its ciliary functions. A new study in #PLOSBiology reveals that CCDC66 also has extensive non-ciliary functions in regulating #mitosis and #cytokinesis@CytoLabKoc https://t.co/xdCMPAVKqT

It feels amazing to finally share that my first first-author paper is now online as a preprint! 🥳 https://t.co/jtTaUjofjP This work is done when I was a master student in @CytoLabKoc in collaboration with Jovana Deretic. Read below our main findings 👇
We @CytoLabKoc@CaydasiLab would love to host the next #EMBOcentrosomes in İstanbul at Koc University. The campus is located on a beautiful hillside overlooking the Black Sea. There are direct flights from most countries to İstanbul.
