I cannot say this enough. Schools cannot hold up the whole world. Housing, jobs, dentistry, doctors: we need other policy areas to work if there’s any chance at improving children’s lives.
For anyone who's read VARJAK PAW and wants to know how it was written - or anyone interested in writing - here's a free resource I made for the British Library, sharing pages from 7 different drafts. You can have a lot of fun showing this to a class!

I created 128 slides of safeguarding quiz questions for staff briefings.
I found the questions online, but I mixed them up so that they are covering an array of topics each week e.g.
-KCSIE
-Prevent
-CCE
-Online safety
-Abuse
Happy to share 👍🏾

As a headteacher I have immense influence. Since coming out as a sigma in assembly and walking around the place mewing and calling everything skibidi we have seen a 100% reduction in Y6 boys being interested in such gubbins.

A thread about one of the many public sector scandals going under the radar....

This list has been on the wall of my class then Office for ever and was and is the most important list I’ve ever had. It’s constantly reminded me that teaching is more than what happens in lessons and that it’s about being human.
A Deputy Head of a Primary school said to me today:

Couldn't agree more
