BREAKING: 3-judge panel blocks Alabama's attempt to use Congressional map that would go from 2 majority-minority districts down to 1. Judges say plan still appears to violate 14th Amendment. Next stop: #SCOTUS https://t.co/kV5Rj1Px9m
LABOR ALERT: Brothers & Sisters - our freedom to hold politicians accountable through the initiative petition is under attack!
Amendment 4 would take the power AWAY from the people while giving more power to politicians in Jefferson City.
Amdt. 4 MUST be defeated this August!
BREAKING: Kansas health officials say they are monitoring three people who had a "high-risk exposure" to someone who tested positive for Andes hantavirus.
HHS through @ASPRgov and @CDCgov is supporting @StateDept in the repatriation of 17 American citizens from the MV Hondius cruise ship affected by the Andes variant of hantavirus.
All 17 are currently en route via @StateDept airlift to the United States, with two of the passengers travelling in the plane's biocontainment units out of an abundance of caution. One passenger currently has mild symptoms and another passenger tested mildly PCR positive for the Andes virus.
As of now, the airlift will transport passengers to the ASPR Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center (RESPTC) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska before taking the passenger with mild symptoms to a second RESPTC at its final destination.
Upon arrival at each facility, each individual will undergo clinical assessment and receive appropriate care and support based on their condition.
DOJ used tracking information from Flock Safety to track Marimar Martinez's movements in the days before DHS agents shot her full of bullets. They showed her running errands and commuting to work.

Your personal data is increasingly tracked & surveilled, a new book (“Your Data Will Be Used Against You”) explains.
We asked its author, @profferguson, if he'd answer your questions on the risks & what it means for politics & civil liberties. He agreed.
So ask him anything!
DC police responding to a domestic assault call documented that Rep. Cory Mills, on a phone call with the victim, instructed her to lie about where her bruises came from. Officers listened.
They still sent an arrest warrant. Trump’s US Attorney for DC, Ed Martin — who calls himself “President Trump’s lawyer” — refused to sign it.
A supervisor reclassified the assault as a family disturbance. The arresting officer told the victim on body cam: “I have bosses making this into a family disturbance instead of an actual domestic assault.”
MPD internal affairs opened an investigation into its own handling of the case. The criminal probe was later closed. The House Ethics Committee investigation remains open.

These four beautiful cats are in desperate need of a home. They lived with their daddy for all 8 years of their lives until sadly, he passed from cancer. Now they are all alone in the house. The cats grew up only knowing one human, so they will be shy with new people. They are 100% litterbox trained, and they are already spayed, neutered, and vaccinated.
Fluffy is the medium-hair gray kitty, Maxine is the dilute tortie, Whitepatch is the short-hair black kitty with a white patch, and Snowflake is the medium-hair black beauty, born with enophthalmos in her left her eye so it appears "sunken". Ideally all 4 cats could be rehomed together, home would be for all 4 cats, but Whitepatch and Fluffy are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. The adoption fees will be covered for all four of these cats, so please open your heart and your home if you can find a way to help them. Please share this post with your friends and family, and ask them to share it with their friends. These kitties need a new person to love! Please contact us if you can help one or more of them!

We're doing all we can to help Leonardo find a new home where he'll be loved as he deserves.
At 10 years old, Leonardo had his entire world turned upside down. His owner passed away, and for a period of time, Leonardo was left alone in the house. Once he was finally found, he was taken to a Maryland shelter.
Leonardo has already been through so much, and sitting in a shelter cage was only stressing him more. Working with allies in Maryland, we took him out of the shelter and into expert veterinary care. He has an upper respiratory infection and doesn't have an appetite, so we're starting treatment so we can get him perked up and eating.
Despite everything, Leonardo is an incredibly sweet older guy. He'll sit in your lap for hours! We have high hopes that he'll make a recovery in our care, and we hope you'll send him your well wishes! 💙
