Been thinking about the epistemic info war going on prior to the SpaceX IPO.

Ultimately, the stock will be worth what SpaceX is able to produce in value for its customers; not the more speculative takes prior to IPO. That "truth" will necessarily lag 2026 by some yrs.

But a believer in the SpaceX thesis and value proposition COULD BE better off to wait. How?

If the infowar is won by the anti-SpaceX, anti-tech, anti-space progress crowd, then the game theoretical correct move for this buyer is to purchase shares in the market, after the IPO. As if the mood is against, the price should be lower at variou points in the coming months.

OTOH, if infowar is won by the pro-SpaceX crowd, those who see and believe in the SpaceX thesis, then the winning strategy is to push through the IPO process paperwork, minimum accnt size, etc. and for "retail" to try to buy what limited amount they can in the IPO.

It is not clear that the winning move is to buy in the IPO, however tantalizing that seems to the SpaceX believer.

I would estimate that with known mass, quasi-stable descent (designed into the shape), and a parachute-declelerator failure, the thing would simply descend at terminal velocity. Say 200 to 350 km/hr depending on density of the puck.

Definitely gonna leave a dent. 😰

ULA had a sensitive rocket on the pad, w a sensitive set of satellites payloads loaded, on their pad (SLC-41) which is just 6 miles away. They were not affected.
They are literally fully loaded w propellant now, and proceeding to a T-0 launch in 30 minutes.
