@AI4ALLorg is elated to announce launch of 🔥 #AI4ALLIgnite 🔥 - a new no cost and virtual AI accelerator with the goal of making jobs in AI more accessible to college students that don’t see themselves represented in the greater tech community. https://t.co/l8rmKM1E0H
Um, excuse me. What is this, 2013?
Honestly, I'm so frustrated seeing this because the diversity in tech movement made progress in the last decade, much of which has been rolled back. Diversity must be part of AI's growth now. Our Changemakers community would look very different
(3/3) That’s what drives our work every day at AI4ALL. We believe that the most most powerful way to ensure AI works for humanity’s benefit is to change who is creating AI. We believe it will take a large, new, diverse generation of responsible AI technologists to solve this.
(1/3) Regarding today’s Future of Life Institute letter: AI reflects humanity, and especially reflects those who create it. The idealist in me wants to agree with this letter, but the realist wants actual change instead of calling for a moratorium.
(2/3) We can’t put this toothpaste back in the tube. Instead, we need a paradigm shift in how AI is developed and who does it, a shift big enough to match the paradigm shift of the technology itself. One thing that this letter got right is there is an urgent need for change.
Happy 6th birthday AI4ALL! This is an incredibly important moment to be working to create more pathways into the AI field for historically excluded talent. Here's to many more years of inspiring and empowering the next generation of AI Changemakers! #IWD2023
Giving Tuesday is one week away. This year, AI4ALL is raising $50,000 to invest in the next generation of diverse AI talent. Consider giving here: https://t.co/w3829sCWQN #GivingTuesday
