The WADDANI administration, led by President @Abdirahmanirro, Must urgently and unequivocally clarify its position on the serious allegations recently made publicly by Somalia’s Minister of Defence, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi.
According to these allegations, Somalia’s Regime provided substantial financial support to WADDANI to help secure its victory in Somaliland’s presidential election held on 13th November 2024.
These are grave claims that demand a clear, direct, and official response from the Somaliland government.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Did the WADDANI administration receive financial support from Somalia’s government during the 2024 presidential election⁉️.

If these allegations are false, the government must firmly and transparently refute them. If they are true, the public deserves a full explanation of the circumstances, the nature of the alleged support, and any commitments or conditions associated with it.

These allegations raise serious questions about political independence, transparency, and the WADDANI administration’s commitment to Somaliland’s sovereignty. No government should expect the public to dismiss such claims without a credible explanation. Somaliland’s national interests must never be compromised by political ambitions, electoral calculations, or undisclosed external influence.
Furthermore, reports that certain individuals claiming to represent Somaliland’s traditional leadership have travelled to Somalia raise additional concerns that require clarification.

The WADDANI administration must explain what official arrangements, if any, facilitated these visits, in what capacity the individuals travelled, and whether they were acting in a personal capacity or claiming to represent Somaliland’s traditional institutions and people.

It must also clarify the legal framework applicable to their actions and whether any laws have been violated. Any potential legal consequences must be determined transparently, in accordance with Somaliland’s laws and due process.
No individual should be presumed guilty without established evidence, but neither should claims of traditional authority be used to misrepresent the people or undermine the national interest.

The sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Somaliland must never become bargaining chips in the pursuit of political power. Every allegation that raises legitimate questions about foreign interference or the integrity of our national institutions must be addressed with facts, transparency, and the seriousness it deserves.
