India's rapid ground water depletion is a major concern and I often talk to local farmers about it. We have to ensure we only consume what falls as rain over a 5 or 10 year period and not dig deeper and deeper borewells. Deep borewell water often has arsenic too.

The biggest opportunity I see for the private sector is to invest in R&D. We must learn from Japan where they focus not just on products but on the tools used to build those products. Build tools!

The catch? This won't result in quick profit but will lead to durable prosperity.
