In this era of shortage of high skilled workforce this should be an easy fix but in reality fixing high skilled immigration seems the most difficult and the last priority. Not sure if system want me to work hard to deliver the best patient care and spend time to advocate to improve healthcare system in the US? H-1Bs get 3-year, limited mobility work status even after working for 20 years in the same job.

But you cross the southern border and make an asylum claim, you get a 5-year unconditional work permit and quickly a greencard.

@FrescoLeon This is really bad policy to hold or exploit them after approved immigrant petition. It means administration is helping companies to exploit foreign workers. Staying legally for 10 years is long period. If people are coming after 25 age& wait for 10 years their half life is gone.
