@PhilipsSonicare Thanks for the response, but my concern is that the 4100, even when on its maximum setting, had nowhere near the power/intensity as the 5100.

I’ve been using a Sonicare for 20+ years, and the 4100 felt like a cheap knockoff. If this is in fact how they all are now, I’m concerned

@PhilipsSonicare If I hold a 4100 and a 5100 model side-by-side, with both set to their maximum settings, should both brushes be identical in power/vibrations?

Mine were not, so I returned the 4100 because all your models are supposed to be the same, right? Or are they not?

@sfchronicle Yes, obviously. There was no legal obligation, but @deyoungmuseum had the ability to help with no plausible downside to the museum and they withheld that help.

It’s the trolley problem but one of the tracks is perfectly clear, and they still chose to let the train hit a man.

Tipping norms are so broken and inconsistent though. Baristas often get next to nothing, whereas bartenders get $1/drink minimum. Because… the liquid is slightly different?

@SF311 Could we please get @SF_emergency to adjust their alertSF messages so they don’t rely on links? What about emergencies that compromise access to internet? What about those without smartphones? These texts are basically useless (and prior to 2020 this wasn’t the case).

According to the USGS ShakeAlert page, those in SF should have received about a 10sec warning. So it seems something didn’t go quite right this time. Just sharing in the hopes that it’s helpful to troubleshoot.

@JohnWoolfolk1 @USGS_ShakeAlert I live in downtown SF and got the alert (via MyShake app, iOS 16) less than 1sec before the shaking started (same for another in my house).

Based on USGS ShakeAlert data, I believe I should have gotten the alert ~10sec before. So this was a disappointing result (barely helpful).

@USGS_ShakeAlert @Cal_OES @CAGeoSurvey @CaltechSeismo @BerkeleySeismo Also, I didn’t get the normal alert noise (“drop, cover, hold-on”), even though I have critical alerts enabled and it showed up on my phone as a critical alert. It only played the ‘Bamboo’ tone. So there might be a bug that needs looking into? Running iOS 16.0

@USGS_ShakeAlert @Cal_OES @CAGeoSurvey @CaltechSeismo @BerkeleySeismo I’m in downtown SF. I was at my ‘HomeBase’ location. I got the alert but I was standing right next to someone who didn’t. We both have the MyShake app and our settings are identical, EXCEPT I have a HomeBase entered and he doesn’t. Is that why? Any way to know what went on here?

@TheLadeesMan I think it’s one of the most impressive products Apple has released in a long time. And a much more logical direction than the Apple Watch Edition…
