He’s 100 years old.
He fought in a war that most of us today can barely imagine.
He saw his friends, many just boys, go off to fight and never return.
He’s carried those memories for a lifetime.
And recently, on live television, he broke down and asked a question no veteran should ever have to ask, “Was it worth it”
When the men who sacrificed everything for freedom now look at the state of their country and wonder if that sacrifice still matters, it should make all of us stop and think.
Remembrance isn’t just a poppy on a lapel or a minute of silence once a year.
It’s a responsibility, to honour their legacy by protecting the values and freedoms they fought for.
Our culture.
Our freedoms.
Our sense of community and national identity.
If we stop respecting those things, if tradition loses meaning, if honour and pride are dismissed as outdated, then we risk forgetting what they stood for.
We don’t honour the fallen by remembering them once a year, we honour them by living in a way that keeps their sacrifices meaningful.
By standing up for our country, our values, and our way of life.
He wasn’t crying out of weakness.
He was crying because he remembers the cost of forgetting.
What if, hear me out, the Israelis sent soldiers to actually fight Hamas, instead of leveling the whole city and sending conscripts to commit atrocities against the survivors
I have not seen a better graphic representation of the cultural divide that exists in this country.
The most important voting issue for young people was cost of living & affordable housing.
The most important voting issue for boomers was Donald Trump. The least important factor was making Canada a better place to live. Canada is great for boomers.
Given the youth vote is trending CPC and the Student Vote just went CPC (I think for the first time ever?) - it may be worth the LPC considering whether or not they want Canada to be great for young people, too.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith: “A large majority of Albertans are deeply frustrated that the same government that overtly attacked our provincial economy almost unabated for the past 10 years has been returned to government.
Albertans are proud Canadians that want this nation to be strong, prosperous, and united, but we will no longer tolerate having our industries threatened and our resources landlocked by Ottawa.
While Liberals and New Democrats demeaned and demonized Albertans, our values and our industries for political gain, Mr. Poilievre made empowering Albertans and our energy sector a cornerstone of his campaign.
In the weeks and months ahead, Albertans will have an opportunity to discuss our province’s future, assess various options for strengthening and protecting our province against future hostile acts from Ottawa, and to ultimately choose a path forward.”
For all the Liberals celebrating today, exactly what do you think you "won"?
What appealed to you most about the last 10 years?
Your kids competing for jobs with the excessive immigration that is well beyond what any country our size could handle?
Housing costs that have made it virtually impossible for any young person to EVER own a home?
Food costs that even well-off people are side-eying now?
Each of those contributing to young people who can't afford families?
Endless scandals in government?
A government that imposed the emergencies act because of truck horns?
A government that has demonstrated they would rather push energy customers away than build pipelines and plants on the coast?
Carbon taxes on fuel for homes and vehicles that have no other option?
Prioritizing DEI over competence?
I could go on but we'll start there.
Boomers #1 issue in the Canadian election was "dealing with Trump"
Their lowest issues were helping make housing more affordable and making Canada a better place
Whether it’s a majority or minority, the fact Canadians looked at the government who presided over this and chose to give them a *fourth* term in office is objectively insane.
I have at least 30 men under 35yo who work for me. They bust their ass in a hot shop, under a welding hood, on their feet, for 8-12 hours a day. They almost all have families.
These men fabricate the products that drive US energy independence.
In what world should someone else be given “relief” because they decided that college was a better choice.
Completely asinine.
You don’t have to agree with me, but you know where I stand: I WANT PIPELINES — For a Change!
Mr. Carney said pipelines aren’t necessary. Hear him👇
We can’t afford a 4th term of giving the Americans our energy on the cheap.
