@RespectIsVital Not since possibly the '36 Olympics has there been such a politically charged sports event (maybe Argentina '78).
And the western media are quiet like mice compared to the last World Cup
"I talk to the mayor weekly, if not more frequently, and our conversations are between us."
It's hard to put into words how much better the world and LA would be without this loser Casey Wasserman.
First it’s Pasadena and now it’s Long Beach. The US military “practicing” urban warfare in multiple cities should be a humongous red flag to all Americans. The fact that city leaders are rolling over for fascist drills shows all of us where the allegiance is and it isnt with us
Having read this, it’s a simple glitch that meant 60 tickets (SIXTY) were accidentally sent out to people for free and FIFA can’t even bring themselves to swallow it.
They’d sell the air people breathe in the stadiums if they could.
I’m not sure this is understood in the West, so I want to emphasize:
Al Risala are Lebanese *Boy Scouts.*
They belong to the Lebanese Scouting Federation, the local affiliate of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
The US affiliate is the Boy Scouts of America.
After Al Risala Scouts turn 18, they often become Scout leaders who serve as EMTs, firefighters, and search-and-rescue teams.
In the past 2 months, Israel has killed 27 Al Risala Scouts, Troop leaders, and associated young adult rescue workers.
Here are some of young Scouts killed by Israel. Neither the Boy Scouts of America nor the World Organization of the Scout Movement have condemned their murders.
Thank you, Mohammed Salah. That's what we expect from you.
I hope you do it more consistently and speak up about Gaza and Palestine. You'll be lauded & remembered for it.
11 days before Iran’s World Cup opener:
• No visas yet approved for players or staff
• Forced to move their camp from USA to Mexico
• A friendly cancelled due to the relocation
This is how the world’s 21st-ranked team is being treated before football’s biggest tournament.
Nearly 2,000 food and beverage workers at SoFi Stadium began voting Thursday on whether to authorize a strike just eight days before the venue hosts its first FIFA World Cup match. https://t.co/jR5ImNOph3
One week until the World Cup kicks off, and strange things are happening.
🔹 Fifa's ticket inventory fluctuating
💹 Blocks appearing on secondary marketplaces
📉 Less-desirable games drop below face on Fifa resale
💴 How low will they go?

Dynamic pricing and scarcity have shifted the price of watching live sport in the U.S. — and this summer, FIFA is taking full advantage of the landscape.
With face-value tickets for the World Cup final costing almost $11,000, @mjshrimper explains why this tournament is such a rip-off.

Bolivia's Minister of Defense has resigned from government with no official explanation.
Right now, US State Dept is trying to force Bolivia to declare martial law to break the strikes against neoliberalism. Our allies within military confirmed that cabinet is split on this.
🇲🇽 🇺🇸 | Mexican riot police have fired tear gas at thousands of striking teachers in Mexico City.
The unrest exploded just 10 days before the capital hosts the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Authorities erected heavy metal barricades to protect World Cup promotional setups.
Protesters criticize the government for prioritizing foreign tourists over its own people.
Demonstrators expressed deep resentment over state funds being poured into FIFA infrastructure while public education remains chronically underfunded.
The mobilizing unions are demanding a pension overhaul, better working conditions, and a 100 percent salary increase for workers in the education sector.
The Beautiful Game should not be held in a nation drenched in the blood of oppressed and colonized people domestically and globally. FIFA is complicit in the whitewashing of US gangsterism and neo-fascist violence.
Israel yesterday kidnapped four women. Two are footballers in the Palestinian National Team.
Their names are: Natali Abu Dia and Rand Halwani.
Is it normal to kidnap footballers, @FIFAcom? Where are sports media organisations? This story should be the headline everywhere.
I believe we now have evidence of FIFA's World Cup ticketing shell game: FIFA is colluding with third-party resale platforms for its own supply management.
Look at this SeatGeek map (secondary market!) for Saudi Arabia vs Cape Verde. The circled areas are not random single resale tickets, but large, contiguous blocks of seats: entire rows and swaths in sections 101/102, 112/113, 119/120, 134–137, 139, ...
The blue circles appeared weeks ago, then the purple blocks suddenly showed up a day or two ago, and the red blocks seem to have appeared recently too.
That's not what ordinary fan or even commercial scalper resale looks like who resell pairs, fours, and scattered seats. Instead, this looks like inventory being dumped in bulk onto secondary markets, at prices below FIFA's official site.
Why doesn't FIFA just lower prices on its own site Probably because official price cuts could trigger refund demands, chargebacks, or consumer-protection headaches from fans who already bought at much higher prices.
Instead FIFA keeps official prices high, avoids openly admitting the market-clearing price is lower, and moves unsold inventory through third-party resale platforms instead.
