NEW: American citizen & aid worker Jacob Flickinger killed by an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.

Despicable.

Flickinger was one of seven killed after the IDF targeted a three-vehicle aid convoy with a drone strike.

The development is even more concerning considering the convoy of aid workers had coordinated their movements with the IDF.

IDF Chief of the General Staff Herzl Halevi apologized for the killing but said it "happens in war."

The other murdered aid workers include British military veterans James Henderson, 33, John Chapman, 57 and James Kirby, 47,

Polish World Central Kitchen aid worker Damian Sobol, 35, Australian aid worker Lalzawmi Frankcom, 43 and Palestinian Saifeddine Issam Ayad Abutaha, 25 were also killed
