@metro_sn @ShabazzStuart I think we're on the same page. The problem with your original tweet is that you're making it sound like it's the cyclist's fault for not being vigilant enough, even though they were hit by two cars (the first of which was complete negligence).

No one's perfect, cyclists and motorists included, which is why we need more protected lanes, which eliminate this problem.

@metro_sn @ShabazzStuart I do the same, giving parked cars enough space to avoid being doored. But what this often means is that I'm taking the lane, angering drivers behind me, who will then approach dangerously close to pass me unsafely. What's your solution?

@JoeInternaut @ShabazzStuart Dooring usually happens when cars are parked, so a cyclist cannot be in the same lane. The only way to prevent dooring is to stay away from parked cars, which means taking the travel lane. This is also dangerous, as drivers become impatient and will attempt to pass you unsafely.
