ஈழமண்ணில் ஈகச்சுடர் திலீபனின் திருவுருவச் சிலையை சிங்கள -பௌத்த பேரினவாத ஆட்சியாளர்கள் இன்று (செப்டம்பர் 27) அகற்றியுள்ளனர். யாழ்ப்பாணம், நல்லூரில் சில நாள்களுக்கு முன்பு பொதுமக்களால் நிறுவப்பட்ட அச்சிலையை, தமது ஆதிக்கவெறியை வெளிப்படுத்தும் வகையில் சிங்களக் காவல்துறையினர் அப்புறப்படுத்தியுள்ளனர். அதிபர் அனுர திசநாயக அரசின் இந்த ஒடுக்குமுறை நடவடிக்கையை விடுதலைச் சிறுத்தைகள் கட்சியின் சார்பில் மிக வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறோம்.

1987 ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டர் 26 அன்று ஈகச்சுடர் திலீபனின் இன்னுயிர் மூச்சு அடங்கியது.
இந்திய ஒன்றிய ஆட்சியாளர்களுக்கு சில கோரிக்கைகளை முன்வைத்து துளி வன்முறைக்கும் இடமின்றி அறவழியில் 12 நாட்கள் உண்ணாநிலையில் கடும் தவமிருந்த திலீபன், தனது மகத்தான ஈகத்தால் உலகின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்தார். அவர் ஆயுதப் பயிற்சி பெற்ற ஒரு போராளியாயிருந்தும், வன்முறையில்லா அறவழியில் போராடும் துணிவையும் வலுவையும் கொண்டிருந்தார். அதன் மூலம் வெகுமக்களின் பேரன்பை வென்றெடுத்தார். மேதகு பிரபாகரன் அவர்களின் வணக்கத்திற்குரியவர் என்னும் பேறு பெற்றார்.

அத்தகைய மக்கள் போராளியை நன்றிப் பெருக்கோடு உலகெங்கும் தமிழ் மக்கள் கடந்த 39 ஆண்டுகளாக நினைவுகூர்ந்து வீரவணக்கம் செலுத்தி வருகின்றனர். அந்த வகையில் ஈழத்திலும் தமிழ்மக்கள் அவரது திருவுருவச் சிலையை நிறுவி அவருக்குத் தமது நன்றியை வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளனர். பொதுமக்களின் இந்த உணர்வைக் காயப்படுத்தும் வகையிலும் அவர்களை அச்சுறுத்தி ஒடுக்கும் வகையிலும் சிங்கள இனவெறி ஆட்சியாளர்கள் அவரது சிலையை அப்புறப்படுத்தியிருப்பது அவர்களின் உண்மை முகத்தை உலகுக்கு அம்பலப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இவர்கள் இடதுசாரிகள், முற்போக்கானவர்கள் என்கிற தோற்றம் உண்மையல்ல என்பதை உலக மாந்தருக்கு உணர்த்தியுள்ளது.

லெப். கேணல் திலீபனின் சிலையை அவர்கள் எம் மண்ணிலிருந்து அப்புறப்படுத்தியிருக்கலாம் ; ஆனால், அவரைத் எம் மக்களின் நெஞ்சத்திலிருந்து ஒருபோதும் அகற்றிவிட முடியாது!

எமது திலீபன் கனவு ஒருநாள் நனவாகும் என்கிற நம்பிக்கையோடு உலகத் தமிழர்கள் யாம்ஒருங்கிணைந்து களமாடுவோம்!

🚨 BREAKING - Sri Lankan police remove Thileepan statue from Nallur memorial

Sri Lankan police officers have forcibly removed a statue of Lt. Col. Thileepan from his memorial in Nallur, Jaffna, just a day after the Tamil nation commemorated 39 years since his fast unto death.

Over 20 Sri Lankan police officers including Jaffna's Officer in Charge (OIC) arrived in the early hours of the morning and swiftly removed the statue.

The removal comes a day after hundreds of Tamils gathered at the memorial to remember Thileepan, who fasted unto death in a protest appealing to the Indian government to deliver on the pledges it made to the Tamil people.
