Another painful loss for Ukrainian sports 🕯️
The Russian army killed 13-year-old track and field athlete Ulyana Vorona. On July 11, Russia carried out a strike on Sumy using guided aerial bombs (KABs), as a result of which the girl was killed…
A girl who had her whole life ahead of her.
At the same time, international sports organizations are bringing back the Russian anthem and flags to international sports arenas. Pure madness.
Condolences to her family and loved ones… Eternal memory to Ulyana and to all victims of Russian aggression.
In our 2023 book, we sought to capture the essence of sport's geopolitical economy. The Balogun case seems to encapsulate what this means. The rescission of his red card wasn't just a sporting decision; we now know it was also a political, diplomatic, perhaps even military one.
The Coalition of the Willing. I thank every leader who stands with Ukraine and our people today. Everyone who understands that Russian aggression can be stopped only through collective pressure. And everyone who is ready to affirm this unity not only in words, but also through real decisions and assistance. There is no alternative to peace. And peace must prevail – thanks to our joint support and actions.

There are 18 members of FIFA's disciplinary committee but the unprecedented decision to lift Balogun's automatic ban was taken by just one person - the chairman Mohammad Al Kamali of UAE. No one else was consulted.

The day after Yesterday!
A principal discussion - nothing to do with England:
1. The ball hits the wire of the Spidercam
a) players and the bench react instantly
b) video-technology from different channels show it
2. FIFA say it did not hit the wire
So two simple questions that need to be answered:
Does FIFA lie?
Is the technology NOT working?
The problem is that FIFA routinely uses lies in its communications – from the attendance figures for the first round to inflated promises of economic benefits and a whole host of other things (claiming to combat child abuse whilst allowing a coach officially suspended by FIFA in the DRC to continue working with teenagers without any repercussions; when you lie about child abuse, you can lie about anything)
It is therefore difficult to take their word alone as a guarantee – especially given the footage shown by Fox

We are doing some behind-the-scenes work at Celtic Supporters Limited that would benefit from a steer on company law.
If you are a supporter or CSL member who works in corporate or company law and could spare a little time to help, we would value a quiet word. Send us an email [email protected] or a DM.

Gianni Infantino has said FIFA will examine expanding the World Cup by a further 16 nations to a 64-team tournament ahead of its next edition in 2030.
The 2030 tournament will be spread across six nations and three continents: Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay are scheduled to host one match apiece at the start of the competition, with the remaining games split between Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

Fake Neutrality.
Two-time Russian Olympian Vladimir Goncharov is fighting against Ukraine as part of the 1487th Motorized Rifle Regiment.
This regiment participated in the destruction of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the Pokrovsk direction, which may qualify as a war crime.
It is also worth noting that Goncharov himself understands that the fact of his service destroys the narrative about “innocent Russian athletes” whom the IOC considers “neutral.”
“I try to turn away from the cameras when someone comes to film us. In my sport, I am quite a well-known person. If I end up in the frame somewhere, I think it will be the end for all Russian sports. They’ll say that Russian athletes are also participating in the war. We still haven’t washed off the doping scandal, and now this too,” Goncharov said after his mobilization.
It seems that the only side that fails to understand that Russian sport is part of the Russian Federation’s military machine is the IOC and international federations. Despite the involvement of Russian athletes in propaganda and even their direct participation in aggressive actions, these organizations are already actively bringing back not only Russian athletes and the Russian Olympic Committee, but also all Russian symbols to the world sports arenas.
Once again, it is worth reminding everyone that Russian athletes are guilty and must be isolated from the international sports arena.
We should also call on the governments of other countries not to issue visas to Russian athletes who support the war or who are part of Russian propaganda (that is, absolutely all members of the Russian national teams).
For foreign publishers interested in translating my book, The Football Industry 1 [FIFA – Crime – Politics], please do not hesitate to contact me
Published two and a half years ago, the book revealed everything we are currently witnessing: the growing politicisation of the ‘new’ FIFA, the influence of the United States, Infantino’s fascination with the ‘powerful’ – including Trump – and several criminal networks still operating within the organisation
The book is only available in French at the moment, but I hope it will one day be published in other languages!

On the 9th June 2026 we wrote an open letter to the board of @CelticFC Plc.
We asked for one thing: a meeting. Us, or a delegation of the board, to sit down and discuss The Celtic Paradox, our review of the club built entirely on Celtic's own audited accounts, ahead of the AGM.
We said we would publish their reply, whatever it said.
A month on, there has been no reply. No, yes, no no, not even an acknowledgement.
So here is the letter, in full. Read it and judge for yourselves.
We are supporters and shareholders asking, in good faith, for a conversation about the club we all own a part of. That should not be too much to ask.

FIFA is one of sport's richest bodies, the World Cup its crown jewel.
Eleven years after corruption nearly toppled it, football's overseer has more money than ever.
But where from? And where does it go?

Russia’s gasoline crisis is deepening – quite justly – in response to Putin’s reluctance to end this war. We have put forward proposals on how to bring peace closer, and we have support not only among our partners around the world, but also within Putin’s own circle. They understand what is happening and that peace has no alternative. This sentiment in Russia will continue to grow.
Today, I signed a decree establishing a special command within the Armed Forces of Ukraine – a command for long-range, effectively global, impact on Russia over this war. This command must concentrate 100% of the available resources on degrading Russia’s warfighting potential even more. The commander in charge of this direction will be strong and certainly highly experienced.
