We are deeply saddened by tragic loss of another @SRCS_SD volunteer, who was killed while on duty by a gunshot in North Kordofan.
Our thoughts are with his family & colleagues.
We reiterate our call for the protection of civilians, including humanitarian workers. #Sudan
Happening Now!
Inaugural commemoration of #UgPlayDay at Kololo Grounds.
Today marks a great opportunity for Uganda to showcase how children learn through play-based themes such as toy-making sessions, child play spaces, & interventions on inclusive play-based learning.🧸
One year after the war, most schools remain closed.
All #children have the right to learn in a safe environment, no matter where they are.
We cannot allow this to continue. Now is the time to act for every child in #Sudan.

After screening tens of thousands of women and children in displaced camps in North Darfur, MSF found that a third were malnourished, which constitutes double the threshold for a malnutrition emergency.
The BBC featured MSF's findings in this report:

"We know what to do, but we simply don't have the funds".
It continues to be heartbreaking to see how little the international community priorities the Sudan crisis.
Millions are in desperate need.
I met some of them personally in Sudan and South Sudan this past week.
We know what we need to do.
But we don't have the funds to respond.
200 days into the war in #Sudan:
🔵 14M children in humanitarian need
🔵 19M children out of school
🔵~3.5M at risk of dying from malnutrition & disease
🔵~3M children displaced & at risk of violence, abuse & exploitation
Peace must come to avoid a generational catastrophe.
#Sudan records largest child displacement in world with ~3 million children forcibly displaced.
Further escalation of war is forcing more children to flee their homes & at risk of violence, abuse & exploitation.
Fighting should stop for children to be safe & well, learn & play.
🚨At least 45 aid workers killed or detained since April
🚨Inflation might exceed 300% by 2023 end, per @WFP
🚨In South Darfur, gunshots heard as many young people reportedly own guns to protect assets in the absence of the rule of law

Historically, much of the gender gap in earnings could be explained by differences in education and occupational choices. However, this year’s economic sciences laureate Claudia Goldin has shown that the bulk of this earnings difference is now between men and women in the same occupation, and that it largely arises with the birth of the first child.

I dag er den internationale dag for lærere! Lærere støber fundamentet for børn og unge over hele verden. Bl.a her i #Rwanda, hvor vi arbejder med @LEGOfoundation for at indføre mere leg i læringen til fordel for både elever og lærere. #WorldTeachersDay
#UPDATE from Kubum locality, South Darfur.
September20,2023.
Renewed tribal clashes occurred between the Salamat and Bani Halba tribes in #Kubum locality, South Darfur state, from the 4th to the 18th of September 2023.
These clashes resulted in several villages burning and residents' displacement from nearby towns. Sadly, over 100 citizens lost their lives due to these clashes.
After the mediation committees failed to reconcile the two tribes, the conflict remained unresolved. And violations of human rights are going on. Many were wounded in danger.
Eyewitnesses have reported to the Darfur Network for Human Rights DNHR that #RSF and #SAF supported these tribes in their ongoing conflict.
We urge CSOs in Sudan and the international community to monitor human rights violations in the Darfur region immediately.

#Sudan: @MSF teams treated over 100 people wounded in two separate locations of #Khartoum following deadly attacks. At least 49 people were killed in the strikes.
This was the deadliest weekend witnessed by MSF teams in Khartoum since the beginning of the war, five months ago.
⚠️ Displacement
⚠️ School closure
⚠️ Lack of basic services
All of these are threatening the future of #Sudan’s 24 million children. The #CostOfInaction is high if no immediate actions are taken.
