Most people need permission to stay calm. They need a school to say, "If you pay us 6 figures, you'll get a job." They need an employer to say, "If you stay for 2 more years, you'll get promoted." They need someone to say, "If you do this, you'll be fine"

They need to be fed the illusion of a guaranteed outcome in order to not go off the rails. If you're able to create that certainty through your own self belief, you've already won. Simply a matter of time catching up

Whatever risk you regret taking, the alternative wouldn’t have been peace. It would’ve been restlessness. There’s a reason you took the risk. If you were actually at peace, you wouldn’t have even felt the inner pull

The pain you’re grappling with can be overcome. You’ll eventually learn to accept the outcome and at least have a story to tell. There’s always richness that can be found in that conclusion

Having to live the rest of your life wondering “what if” though, that’s an entirely different beast of an affliction. Never getting the opportunity to close a chapter, you wouldn’t wish that fate on your worst enemy
