Very sad news indeed. Steve was my colleague at Mitcham Chess Club back in the 1980s and 1990s. A very fine player, originally from Dewsbury in Yorkshire, who worked for BH Wood at Sutton Coldfield in the 1970s. Great character who will be much missed.
