"Failure in #WASH is difficult to talk about, but if we can learn from one another, we can continuously improve our work.“ Such an important topic taken up by @SanLearningHub ! Read and download! https://t.co/vNfP4fJAQp
Ok this is big.
Web of Science just removed the MDPI flagship journal IJERPH from their lists. This means IJERPH has no more an Impact Factor.
Why is this big? What are the implications? 🧵
Thanks for a fun failures week, Radix crew!

Failure to switch off is a big issue in research so have a relaxed Sunday!
With funders clearly being an important part of how water and sanitation operates in parts of sub-Saharan Africa, it only seemed reasonable to find out why they think failures occur, so with generous support from @SanLearningHub we asked them!
It's been a bit of a depressing start to the week with all this talk about failures! So today let's look at what we can do about them? What's the best way to address failures, ideally to stop them occuring but also to limit the damage they do when they do take place?
It's nearly the end of the work week (at least for me it is!) and sharing is caring, so let's look today at how we can share and learn from failures! Unsurprisingly, there's no one size fits all solution for this but we'll look at a few different settings...
If you are at a mega-conference... A well-designed icebreaker can help build rapport and break down power barriers to promote sharing. We hosted failure gameshows at international conferences to act as (rather elaborate) icebreakers. They even had prizes!
Very proud to be a co-author on this important paper, published today in @LancetGH, where we provide evidence that racism, social exclusion and discrimination are stopping us achieving universal water and sanitation in high income countries https://t.co/e0So2MtzcW #WASHTwitter
It's Tuesday and we're talking about why failures happen. In 2020 we asked over 100 frontline professionals in water and sanitation in 4 sub-Saharan African countries why failures happen, how they discuss them, and how we can build a culture of sharing and learning from failures.
This week we'll be talking about why failures happen, what role systemic issues play in causing failures, how to address failures and how to talk about them...
But let's start with the basics! Why are @FSM_Fail so obsessed with failures?

Whoops, forgot to mention that this work is published by the wonderful team at @SanLearningHub. Thank you for backing us in talking about this controversial topic :-)
Getting people to talk about failure is tricky - and using that term won't work everywhere!

What makes a failure... a failure? Making sure all stakeholders in a project or programme have a shared idea of what success and failure look like is a useful starting point. #WASHTwitter Read more: https://t.co/hWM7wTf3s4
