🇦🇱 Together with @WBjournalists and @MediaFreedomEU, we condemn coordinated smear campaigns against independent media and civil society in #Albania. Attacks on KSHM, @SCiDEV_Center and Blerjana Bino @BlerjanaB must stop immediately.

In collaboration with @UNDP Crisis Academy's SURGE Data Hub and the UNDP Risk Anticipation Hub, we have developed a new ACLED Data Literacy Series for UNDP staff on using ACLED data for evidence-based decision-making in conflict settings.
This Data Literacy Series involves five online training modules and four live sessions on ACLED methodology, data visualization, data analysis, and data science tools, as well as real-world UNDP use cases. Our first training session included well over 100 participants, and we look forward to engaging with them over the next few weeks on leveraging ACLED data in their work.

Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to meet many people who have supported me along the way, and I am grateful to all of you. I am truly honoured to be awarded an OBE by His Majesty The King.
I asked 80-year-old millionaires if the money was worth the sacrifices they made.
Here’s what they told me:
==
1) On their biggest regret:
• I regret not spending more time with my kids. You only get so many years where they WANT to hang out with you.
• I wish I learned how to sell earlier. Instead, I wasted my twenties stuck in a boring job because I was too afraid to ask for a promotion.
• I wish I had written down more of my ideas and plans. All those ideas were lost.
• I have no regrets at all. You learn from setbacks and defeat.
2) How money affects their life:
• Relationships are the true currency of life. The better relationships you have, the better life you’ll lead.
• Money can’t buy happiness, but it eliminates the stress of worrying about money.
3) On their proudest moment:
• Going from $0 to $1M per month.
• Helping kids with criminal records turn their lives around.
• Playing a small role in people’s success on a daily basis is hugely rewarding.
4) On the silliest thing they spent money on:
• Possessions like cars and boats all ended up being meaningless.
5) On the best money they ever spent:
• On my own self-development. On my family to create experiences.
• On my children’s college education and their wedding.
• On a preschool that helps underprivileged children.
6) Advice to someone starting out in their career:
• Get rid of your sense of entitlement. The world owes you NOTHING.
• There are more treacherous people out there than you might realize. Avoid them at all costs.
• Nobody cares about what you can do. They care what you can do FOR THEM.
• Write stuff down, recruit a mentor, and build a peer network.
7) Quotes they live by:
• “A rising tide RARELY lifts all boats. You still have to be good when the tide is riding.”
• “If it is to be, it is up to me. Get up, get off your butt, and get to work.”
