About the Role

We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager based in Lagos to help grow our business through proactive client acquisition, partnership development, and lead generation.
This is a primarily remote role, but the successful candidate must live in Lagos because the position involves occasional field activities, client meetings, or on-site engagements in the city.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, and lead generation.
• Develop and execute business development strategies, including generating and nurturing leads.
• Engage potential clients and customers via calls, emails, meetings, and presentations to pitch products/services and close deals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients, and partners.
• Collaborate on developing new business ideas, market approaches, and go-to-market initiatives (especially valuable in a startup or high-growth environment).
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and stay informed on industry trends.
• Manage the full sales/business development pipeline from initial contact through to conversion.
• Represent the company in occasional field activities, client visits, or local events in Lagos as needed.
• Track and report on key metrics (leads generated, conversion rates, pipeline value, etc.).

Requirements

• Male candidate based in Lagos, Nigeria.
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles — ideally within a startup or high-growth environment.
• Strong track record of lead generation, client outreach, and converting prospects into customers.
• Experience developing or refining business ideas/strategies and engaging potential clients.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setup while being available for occasional in-person activities in Lagos.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a startup or early-stage company.
• Familiarity with CRM tools and sales pipelines.
• Local network or knowledge of the Lagos business ecosystem.
