We exhort local & int’l HR organisations to promptly proscribe @AbiyAhmedAli very treacherous #Genocidal call‼️
168 Ethnic Amharas perished in one night. International institutions such as @amnesty and @hrw have failed the people of #Amhara in several occasions. Instead of marking the nth anniversary of Rwandan genocide , you could have actually prevented one from happening.
Hidden agreements between various Oromo factions and the fear of another Amhara Genocide. (by: Yuri Tadesse)
Ethiopia, a nation known for its diverse cultural landscape, is facing escalating concerns over undisclosed agreements between various Oromo factions. These hidden deals have raised anxieties among Ethiopians, particularly regarding their potential impact on the Amhara ethnic group, amidst a backdrop of past agreements leading to violent outcomes.
The distress over hidden agreements stems from historical events, where covert deals resulted in catastrophic consequences. One such instance was the undisclosed Ethio-Eritrea agreement between Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Issayas, believed to have contributed to the Ethio-Tigray war, leading to an appalling loss of lives and injuries, surpassing a million casualties.
Another alarming agreement emerged between Abiy's government and the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), which led to the arming of OLF within Ethiopia's borders. Allegations surfaced of violent actions targeting ethnic Amharas, particularly in regions like Welega. This bolstered the OLF's military strength, standing almost equivalent to the Oromiya National Defense, alongside the Ethiopian Defense Force largely operated by ethnic Oromos.
The consequences of such clandestine agreements have been dire, with reports of atrocities and what some label as an "Amhara genocide." Instances of ethnic Amharas being massacred in Oromiya regions have fueled the growing fear among Ethiopians.
Further contributing to the tension was a bilateral agreement between the Ethiopian government and Tigray forces, which excluded ethnic Amharas from the negotiation process. This led to frustration among Amhara fanos, culminating in confrontations with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's forces, especially following the announcement of dismantling the Amhara special forces while retaining the Oromo special force. This conflict escalated into war in Amhara, plunging the region into a state of siege, lacking basic necessities.
Further compounding the worry was a hidden meeting reportedly conducted by a section of the Ethiopian government, the dominant Oromo Prosperity Party following a military loss in the Amhara region by Amhara fanos. This clandestine gathering allegedly paved the way for another undisclosed agreement between representatives of the Oromo-led Prosperity Party and the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF).
The latest cause for alarm revolves around this another undisclosed agreement, reportedly between representatives of the Oromo-led Prosperity Party and the OLF, allegedly taking place in Tanzania. The main actors in this reported agreement, representing the government, include Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, loyal to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, along with Getachew Gudina, Demise Amenu, and Bonsa Ewnetu—all ethnic Oromos from Welega. From the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) or "Shene," the participants are reported to be Jal Merro and Jal Gemechu Abey, both ethnic Oromos.
Ethiopians are demanding transparency and inclusivity in decision-making processes. The prevalence of specific ethnic representation in these covert discussions has triggered concerns of exclusion and potential harm to other ethnic groups, especially the Amharas.
The looming fear is that this undisclosed agreement might further target the Amhara ethnic group, compounding the already precarious situation.

During the North Ethiopia war, occupying TPLF forces perpetrated civilian massacres, rape, abductions, and looting on residents of historic #Lalibela, even desecrating the rock-hewn churches. Now history is repeating itself as Abiy regime forces are doing the same.
