You can still apply to Teesside University and start this September 🎓
Jack chose Teesside University because it was close to where he lived and they offered the course he was interested in. He wanted to study Chemistry because he had done well in this subject at A-level.

Is my baby ready for solid foods?
Infants can be introduced to foods other than breast milk or formula beginning around six months of age.
Here are a few of the telltale signs that your child is developmentally ready, all of which are on vivid display in this video:
First, your baby should be able to sit up comfortably (either on their own or with support) and demonstrate strong control their head and neck.
Next, assess their swallowing. If your baby manages to transfer food from the front of the tongue to the back, then swallows, this is a good sign that they’re ready.
If, on the other hand, they consistently use their tongue to push food back out of their mouth, they may require a little more time.
Finally, if they open their mouth in eager anticipation when food is offered, like this hungry little one, chances are good that they’re ready.
If you’re spoon feeding, look for a soft silicone rubber utensils, which are far easier on your baby’s tender gums than metal silverware.

Today is World Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Day.
Including the infant is important to raise awareness that babies are affected by the relational, social & political determinants of mental health.
There is a free webinar at lunchtime today https://t.co/jaN04Rkxpq
As today is World Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Day, it is great to be heading to @ParentInfantFdn Network Day to celebrate the high-impact work of parent-infant relationship (PAIRs) teams around the U.K.

Evidence is clear-most parents want to do the very best for their children
Lack of support in the earliest years & systemic obesogenic environmental factors need addressing
Here here 👏👏 and we need to get on with it. Funding must be moved back to public health. Just look at the mess we are in. So many children’s whole lives will be affected.

Can you cuddle your baby too much?
The short answer is no.
You might have heard guidance that being too responsive to your baby will spoil them.
But that’s really not the case in infancy. Indeed, being responsive to your baby’s desire for comfort is an important part of bonding and attachment.
When you respond attentively to your infant’s cues it helps to create trust, love, and a sense of safety - all cornerstones of longterm mental health and wellbeing.
Don’t forget that your baby has just spent 9 months in close quarters, surrounded by gentle pressure in utero.
It’s little wonder then that they find skin to skin contact and cuddles such a great source of comfort.
No parent can be fully responsive 24-7, of course, so be kind to yourself.
But infancy definitely isn’t the time to skimp on the affection your baby craves for fear of spoiling.
Love them up.

This is really worth a read. The old triangle (or stepped care) model isn’t working. Families, needs & systems are more complicated. Ensuring access to specialists at all levels of need is the oil that can help the cogs turn more effectively and efficiently. 1/2
What an amazing day

Seeking to enable change across a system? We have to see tension between stakeholders as inevitable: people with differing goals, assets, powers & traditions. Rather than striving for harmony/consensus, we need to create the conditions for tensions to be experienced as democratic, predictable, innovative & respectful. @tommilaitio says we should aspire to convivencia: the middle space between open conflict & harmony. It means the capability to co-exist across differences, where the parties do not strive to resolve differences but have the ability & willingness for pragmatic solutions. https://t.co/LW7p3ursQq
Amazing local collaboration resulting in the development of a local clinic for Tongue Tie, supporting our local breastfeeding mums. Health Visitors & Midwives identifying local health needs & with the support of Family Hub Transformation funding were able to make it a reality.
