Fire In The Cosmos

A podcast cohosted by @Cedar_Anthony & @sineadaw featuring experiencers, scientists & academics covering mysticism, UFOs & consciousness!

[Fire In The Cosmos @FireInTheCosmos]

We're back! 🔥✨ (Finally -- it's been weeks and we've missed you!)

🎥 New episode out now! We sit down with brilliant philosopher & UAP researcher Dr. Kimberly S. Engels @kimberly_engels -- recorded before the release of Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day, which has added a new element to the public discourse.

What are experiencers ACTUALLY telling us and why have we been so bad at listening?

Serving as Research Director at the John Mack Institute, Dr. Engels brings her unique application of phenomenology (the study & art of truly listening to experience before explaining it) to UFO/NHI contact accounts; and what she finds is undeniable.

Among experiencers, there are consistent patterns in the data: Time distortion, telepathic communication, and deep transformation that can't be written off as pathology!

She draws on indigenous and shamanic wisdom, the cross-cultural Trickster archetype, and brings an intersubjective approach that challenges the Western worldview, physicalist science, and the dominant fear narrative around UAP.

We also get into the ethics of non-consensual contact, her own hilarious paranormal experience with a Billie Eilish song, and the landmark metadata research project at Rice University's Center For The Impossible (formerly Archives of the Impossible), where Dr. Engels and colleagues are using phenomenological coding and AI to help analyze thousands of experiencer letters and documents from the Whitley Strieber (@WhitleyStrieber) and John Mack collections -- the largest project of its kind.

This important paper was co-authored by a few of our friends from University of Virginia’s trailblazing Division of Perceptual Studies!

We interviewed one of their colleagues, Dr. Marina Weiler, earlier this year. Her focus is on out-of-body experiences and non-verbal autistic children as possible nodes of non-locality of consciousness!

🔥 Paper on Reincarnation in a respected, peer-reviewed journal 🔥

"In cases where the individual died suddenly or unexpectedly...the amount of time between their death and the birth...was significantly shorter than in cases where the death wasn't unexpected."

The findings are reported in Psychology of Consciousness: Theory, Research, and Practice.

"The effect remained even after we accounted for several cultural and psychological factors, and it was actually stronger in families whose religions did not support reincarnation."

Science Alert: Scientists Found a Bizarre Pattern in Over 1,000 Cases of Alleged Human Reincarnation

(And no, this doesn't prove reincarnation, and it's not even new, but it's pretty cool to see this being taken seriously.)

~

"The findings, reported in Psychology of Consciousness: Theory, Research, and Practice, can't really be explained, researchers say.

"'This is the largest systematic study to date of temporal patterns in reported past-life memories,' says lead author and cognitive neuroscience researcher Saeedeh Sadeghi from the University of Virginia.

"'Individual cases can leave room for different interpretations, but patterns across many cases are much harder to explain as exaggeration, fantasy or fabrication'

"The researchers analyzed 1,678 cases involving an ostensibly identified Past Person, finding that the median intermission time was 16 months among the 1,319 cases with available timing data.

"But the more unexpected the death was – whether due to an accident, violence, or a sudden medical crisis – the shorter the intermission time tended to be.

"In cases where the death was completely unexpected, the median intermission time was only 12 months, reflecting a roughly 43 percent reduction from the most anticipated deaths (21 months).

"The effect remained even after we accounted for several cultural and psychological factors, and it was actually stronger in families whose religions did not support reincarnation," says social psychologist Philip Cozzolino of the University of Virginia.

"These results do not support the idea that social beliefs are driving this pattern.

"Of course, none of this should be taken as evidence that reincarnation necessarily occurred in these instances, and the researchers acknowledge that the strength of the observed association was modest, with death unexpectedness accounting for only about 2–3 percent of the variance in intermission time.

"Still, the fact that the pattern can be seen in the data is hard to explain, the researchers say, noting it's not something that can be accounted for by existing psychosocial mechanisms.

"'Is this evidence of anything metaphysical? The data are observational and we're careful to stay agnostic about mechanism,' Sadeghi says.

"'What I can say is that the pattern is real in the data, and not readily explained by cultural and psychological factors we examined – which, to me, is a reason to keep looking, not to look away.'

Jay Stratton reveals in his new book that there was "alien" contact with representatives of our government, and that there is film footage of the event.

The encounter famously occurred at Holloman Air Force Base in 1964. Three UFOs approached the base - and ONE landed. It's reported that an NHI (alien) being came out, and made contact with elements of the U.S. GOV (Air Force and CIA representatives).

Government insiders confirmed this event to Jay.

This is an event @G_Knapp and I have reported on many times. I actually directly questioned the CIA's historian, and the CIA's liaison to Area 51 about this footage... publicly. Go find that clip!

Anyway... Jay was NOT able to find the film footage himself, even in official capacity.

The footage was reported to have been held at the Air Force Safety Center at Kirtland AFB (in New Mexico)... and then later stored at Norton AFB in San Bernardino CA.

Jay also makes the correct point that it's reported former President George H.W. Bush in 2003 confirmed the Holloman AFB contact with NHI directly to Dr. Hal Puthoff and Dr. Eric Davis (and others).

I suspect this landing and NHI contact event was indeed real.

REMEMBER, the events were featured in UFOs Past, Present & Future, my favorite movie funded by the CIA, BTW.

What do you think @JoelValdezDOW? 🛸

1/3 How should the public evaluate extraordinary claims about UAP without falling into either blind belief or automatic dismissal?

In a new Substack article, Disclosure Foundation Advisory Board member and psychologist Dr. Jennice Vilhauer (@JenniceVilhauer) offers a framework for doing exactly that, examining the debate surrounding David Grusch’s recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Her approach centers on five questions:

1. Are we judging the person or the claim?
2. Are the witnesses truly independent?
3. Can the evidence actually be obtained?
4. What is our own mind doing as we evaluate it?
5. Does the evidence meet a clear, shared standard?

As Dr. Vilhauer writes, the goal should be neither belief nor dismissal, but rigorous investigation, open scientific access to evidence, and continued pressure for government transparency.

This really is quite an extraordinary admission from Health Secretary RFK @SecKennedy. He spoke first-hand to SEALs and Green Berets who revealed their role in UFO retrievals. A senior administration official with knowledge of people directly involved in covert UAP retrievals. @POTUS @WhiteHouse @StephenM. Give @RepLuna a TV host job applying the blowtorch!

Reading this with a big grin. I struggle to think of anyone who understands the nuances of the Phenomenon like Hermes. This piece contains only a portion of the framework he’s developed over decades of experience and research, but even a small taste leaves you wanting more. 🤔🫨

Dave alleges that there are reptilian beings using tic tac shaped vehicles and 'Greek god' beings in boomerang shaped vehicles.

The incredible thing about this is Dave's credibility. He is the real deal. And what he alleges needs to be taken seriously.

One of Dave's sources was late U.S. Air Force intelligence officer Matthew Sullivan. His funeral was attended by Major General David Abba.

Abba described Sullivan as “the brightest intel lieutenant I ever met”.

Abba stated that Sullivan carried “the burden that a select few in this nation have of truly understanding what’s going on”, adding that he bore that weight every day.

1/3 Yale historian of religion and Disclosure Foundation Advisory Board Member Dr. Carlos Eire [paraphrase]: "If in fact disclosure brings us credible evidence that there do indeed exist non-human intelligences, religion will not disappear. Instead, religion will find a way to incorporate this phenomenon into the fold."

Dr. Eire's comment was in response to a question pertaining to his involvement in this past June's Disclosure Forum, where Eire presented a lecture titled Religious Implications: The Impossible Made Real - How societies function when confronted with ideas once deemed impossible, and what disclosure asks of existing religious and scientific frameworks.

Disclosure would inevitably raise profound questions for the world’s religious traditions. But as Dr. Eire suggests, the confirmation of non-human intelligence need not mean the end of religion. It may instead expand how humanity understands creation and our place within it.

[Disclosure Foundation @disclosurefound]

In a new Substack article, Disclosure Foundation Advisory Board member and clinical psychologist Dr. Jennice Vilhauer (@JenniceVilhauer) states:

"If psychologists wait until after there is confirmation of NHI to start taking action, they will have surrendered the opportunity to help shape how the public experiences what could possibly be the most meaningful event in human history."

In order to be proactive rather than reactive, and to ensure psychological preparedness is part of the broader disclosure conversation (and as she states in her article) Dr. Vilhauer is calling for the creation of an American Psychological Association (APA) task force initiative to bring together psychologists to begin assessing the potential psychological implications of NHI disclosure and what reasonable preparation could look like.

The Foundation strongly supports this effort. She is currently seeking psychologists interested in supporting this initiative and beginning that conversation.

I asked @SchreckReports this question from @TheUfoJoe in today's @psicoactivopod episode. We go through all the recent pieces he's written on his Paradigm News site. And yes, we also addressed all the controversies. I'm sure there will be divided opinions, as it always happens with this colorful UFO community. 😁

We cover interesting tidbits about Dan Farah, John Herrington's response to @BFree63's story, and Clapper's response after 'Age of Disclosure' came out. And of course, Ben's coverage of the Mike Spicer, AKA 'Whistling Mike', story.

The Defense Department issued a legal waiver authorizing current and former personnel to share unidentified anomalous phenomena–related classified information, but it doesn’t extend to other agencies. https://t.co/vXBiYBQ9hO

[Rhys Dalton-Morgan @TheUFOzzie]

If we think the UFO phenomenon is about alien bases in the ocean, AI super-intelligence or an attraction to nuclear energy, we may be letting the phenomenon control our interpretation of it through our own cultural lens. No different from any culture before us that interacted with whatever this is. The phenomenon appears to be a feedback loop, which means our individual and collective conscious may be connected to how it expresses itself. Every religion, story, thought and idea feeding its arsenal of tools to present to us.

If we want to think deeply about the phenomenon we may have to move beyond what it presents, because how it shows itself might not actually matter. The craft, species and behaviour may be nothing more than a tailored creation framed around our technological society. The effects of the experiences themselves might be the point of the phenomenon. How they make us think, feel and perceive. How they change our lives and connect with one another. Meaning the phenomenon may not be pulling us outward towards the cosmos. But pointing us inward to who we really are and why we are here.
