Notice the opening. "When we gain power." Not when we are trusted to restore liberty to the individual, not when we earn the right to protect a free people, but when we gain power. That is how a man thinks who sees government as a weapon to wield, not a servant to restrain.
Then read the method: "through executive action." He proposes to reshape the entire labor economy by decree, bypassing Congress, the branch that actually makes law. That is not a republic or even a democracy. It is rule by pen, the tool of a man who cannot win the argument and so skips the legislature entirely.
And the substance is force. "Tie federal contracts to union recognition" means using the taxpayer's money to coerce workers and employers into an arrangement they never chose. @RoKhanna calls it standing up for the working class. It is standing on their necks and calling it help.
A free man does not need you to "gain power" over him. He needs someone to defend his right to his own life which means to leave him free to produce and trade and keep what he earns.
You were paying $32 a month on a $145,632 loan at 6.5% and thought that was ok? I'm guessing you didn't take any math classes. Welcome to reality, people work and pay their bills here.
As a Native American I’m a little offended that the 14th Amendment didn’t grant us citizenship until Congress passed an exception for us. Meanwhile, a CCP spy can fly to Guam, drop a baby and fly home with the baby who qualifies to run for president 35 years later.
Yes. They can. That’s the argument. It’s not a gotcha, or a rejoinder; it’s a restatement of the case. It’s also a *confession* that you are incapable of evaluating the branches of government independently of who is running them at any given point.
@conor64 On the one hand, Musk may have thrown the baby out with the bathwater in nixing USAID. Honestly, if it's a worthwhile effort, surely there are other options. But on the other hand, paying for other countries' ambulances is... dumb waste.
The Democratic establishment deserves a slow clap here.
Really. Bravo.
They spent years building the perfect little political terrarium: NGOs, activist salaries, university grievance factories, donor cash, media protection, blue-city patronage, “equity” rackets, and taxpayer-funded do-gooder laundromats all humming along under the sacred banner of “Our Democracy.”
Then they looked at the radicals crawling around inside and said, “Surely these people will remain manageable.”
Absolutely brilliant, guys.
Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries now look like substitute teachers trying to take attendance during a prison riot. The donors are sweating through their custom suits. The consultants are pretending this is just a “messaging challenge.” The media is polishing the same old turd and calling it “youth energy.”
No, champ. This is not youth energy.
This is the bill.
You told them America was evil.
You told them capitalism was theft.
You told them police were the enemy.
You told them borders were immoral.
You told them every institution had to be “decolonized,” “reimagined,” or burned down and rebuilt by people with sociology degrees and untreated rage.
Now they believe you.
And worse, they want promotions.
That is the humiliation. The party bosses thought they were renting radicals by the hour. Turns out the radicals thought they were being trained to run the place.
Democrats built the hive, fed the hive, defended the hive, and called anyone who noticed a conspiracy theorist.
Now the hive has the keys.
Enjoy the buzzing.

There’s a passage on That Hideous Strength where Merlin says they should go get help from the king. Everyone says the king is useless, Merlin replies “ok let’s overthrow him then.”
The Court was reading an act of Congress that said there was no judicial review of TPS designations. If you don’t like that, change the law.
Changing the Court won’t matter if you’re unwilling to pass new laws.
For months, @L0m3z and I have been pressing the idea that the Left is moving from “woke” to Third-Worldism—that is, from symbolic politics to material politics. Yes, we ruined the reputation of “woke,” but Third-Worldism is a more serious threat to life, liberty, and property.
He's been an American citizen for like 5 minutes, is a champagne Nepo baby Marxist and is a direct reflection of the campus privilege class, which is exactly why the media loves him.
Full Leeroy Jenkins ahead.
@mitchellvii The US also restructured their government with a new pacifist constitution for Japan - all while under US occupation. Not sure that's happening in Iran...
Wait, Judge WHO?
Did what?
So, you’re telling me that a person named Sparkle SoockNaNan is a Judge and said the government can’t determine if a voter is a citizen of this country?
