Building cool stuff in Tulsa. Posting about Construction, Fitness, Real Estate / Rentals / Affordable Housing and Travel. Boomer / Sooner. Keep stepping!
Hello!
Thanks for stopping in. Long time twitter/X user, trying to put myself out there more in ‘24.
My name is Matthew (Matt) Ward, I am 46 years old and was born and raised in Tulsa, Ok where I have been married to my wife Kim for 26 years. We have 3 wonderful children that are accomplished in their own right. I was an IT guy (🤓) for 20 years until I was laid off 5 months before Covid hit. Kim also quit her retail mgmt job of 15 years 5 days before the madness began…
After zero interviews, we went all in on ourselves. My family had some rentals so we bought some more during Covid. We were then given an opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity. We parlayed that into full time GC work and are now partnering with H4H to build full scale neighborhoods in the Tulsa metro area.
We have several duplex builds in the pipeline for 2024 and looking to expand into build to rent (BTR) neighborhoods. I build and Kim manages, it’s a good partnership 🙂.
We are focusing on expanding our reach in 2024 and coming years so if any of this interests you, please reach out. We are believing that this year be the best year ever!
Thank you and God Bless!
@trevizo_gabe@CoFoundersNik This is what I’m currently doing with @mhowitt and @follard. We have 1 duplex going and 6 others in the works I also do work for bigger GCs that build customs and it’s probably the best route for him, imho.
I can build a 1500 sqft house only for around 150k, the problem we have is finding lots that are reasonably priced in desirable areas. Development can be done fairly easily here but it’s risky and takes approx 1 year to get 5 acres done and entitled for 20 lots at approx 800-1m. I’m in Tulsa, OK. Carrying costs are another story.
Happy Monday friends! Not watching the eclipse, doing paused squats instead 💪💪. Busy week with 3 floor installs, interior paint and cabinets/final. Let us know how we can help you! 👍🤛
Wonderful time speaking about medical school and cultural resilience with fellow medical students. I truly think we are spoiled here at OSU-COM CN with resources, indigenous fellowship, and as I got to speak about some on the panel, great mentors😊 thank you Dr. Bray!
Flooring going down in 1 and doing final walkthroughs on 2 final cleans. Two more #AffordableHousing units ready for their new owners! What are you working on today?
Weighted vest walk this am. Tbh, didn’t really want to do it. Weather app said it was going to rain, cold, windy, every excuse was there. But we got it done. Life is the same, you just have to push through and keep stepping. #SundaySteps
Have a great day!
