Encouraging @cityofhamilton & @hsr to fix Hamilton's public-transit bus system. And execute the #HamOnt 10-Year Rapid Ready plan. Auto-tweets #FixTheHSR.
We are saddened at the decimation of SoBi, HSR, LRT, and options for users.
We have heard from another several residents (including 6-figure salary homeowners) considering moving away from Hamilton because of combined frustration, even taking losses on COVID-shrunk real estate.

Loaded my @PRESTOcard for the first time in a long time.
Wed night it had a balance of $1.16 & I loaded $50 on it. Tapped this AM & again just now. Still no funds available.
This BS is one reason why I despise the Presto system & think that #HamOnt & #yhmcc should steer clear.
@StewKlazinga @hsr@PRESTOcard I've seen a few @hsr Presto machines fail to sync for several days, perhaps because the bus was parked in far-corner of bus parking lot, away from nightly sync signal at the garage. @PRESTOcard don't make it easy for the @hsr transit organization to make it pleasant for riders.
@StewKlazinga @hsr If we're stuck with @PRESTOcard then @hsr needs to upgrade those goddamn LTE-less Presto machines. The Vancouver machines have LTE so they can sync. Must be buggy nightly sync with those ancient gen1 @hsr bus Presto machines (they're older than TTC's bus Presto fare machines).
Today we are very excited to introduce our community Consultation Bus! Over the winter we will be engaging with communities to find out what we can do to make transit your first choice in transportation. Help us (Re)envision the HSR & join the conversation. #OFHSummit2019#HamOnt
We enjoy the free #99 @hsr service!
A quick trip from Jackson Square to the Hamilton waterfront on a nice summer day.
Now that HSR is improving with service upgrades.... Some TLC pretty please on #99; some touch up paint, fixing minor damage & refreshing destination signage?
@IPongray@JTP_Media@JoshMatlow@hsr@HamiltonPort For those unfamiliar, the Discovery Center at the waterfront was shut down and the current building is in some limbo state at the moment. But the free #99 HSR service runs and is known as that "Hamilton waterfront shuttle", despite its nonexistent destination.
@freeleereed @mennonightmare@_prettygod After that, there is now a Single-Use Paper Presto Card option that HSR is planning to test. It's the same one TTC is testing:
People protested and forced Toronto to do it.

This is just extra info newer than the date earliee linked articles.
@freeleereed @mennonightmare@_prettygod Neutral POV:
Regardless of whose side one falls on. They partially fixed that problem a few weeks later after your article's date with a compromise:

TL;DR: Hamilton apparently received permission to keep paper tix for 10 years.
@hsr I would like to know what you're hiring process is exactly because on NUMEROUS occasions I have witnessed the same female King bus driver be inconsiderate to passengers, slamming on the breaks and making sudden stops, talking on the phone and eating while driving.
@ABureauWard3@hsr@FixTheHSR Ottawa always had big bus stop signs since 1980.
Every stop. City wide. Even Suburbs. Even Rural. Route numbers always included. Bus stop signs are as big as road signs. Much more AODA compliant! 2/2
@ABureauWard3@hsr@FixTheHSR Yes! Hamilton bus stops are tiny. They are smaller than road signs. Bad visual accessibility. No route numbers. Bus users feel lower class. 1/3
