As the zoo staff played recorded hoots and tried to capture Flaco the Eurasian Eagle-Owl, he went about his usual business of hunting rodents in Central Park on Thursday night.

Flaco, the escaped Eurasian eagle-owl, clutching a rat this weekend. His ability to hunt is a relief! Concerns remain (rodenticides, vehicular collision) but these are sadly risks shared with our native raptors anyway. We’re rooting for you Flaco!
