@LaskyJoshua@bendreyfuss I remember paying around $40 USD to get maybe the worst ticket for a second round NHL playoff game in 1995 when I was in junior high school. I suspect NBA prices were usually at least comparable in good markets.
@areyouawitchor2 Did she have any She-Ra tapes? The He-Man show was produced directly by the toymakers and I guess they thought He-Man didn't sell to girls so they came up with She-Ra for that purpose. She was popular when I was young.
@MarkBourrie It's funny that it didn't really become Canadian until its third iteration. The original movie was completely American and the first tv show was just an American production that filmed in BC because the producers heard it was cheap to shoot there.
@danversio Nute Gunray from Newt Gingrich and Ronald Reagan is very similar to Eborsisk, the two-headed dragon he'd put in Willow for Siskel and Ebert. I think he wasn't concerned with subtle cuteness in those names.
@TriumphICDHQ@Letterman I know you said you weren't known until your cartoons but your Idiot's Perspective pieces on Weekend Update were very funny and I think the first time I saw you on screen IIRC.
@agraybee After the first movie I was sure he would later kill his former owner which would be the most sympathetic way to have him start down the dark side path. But when they did meet up later they were rather cordial.
@TriumphICDHQ@Letterman That was great episode. Though by the end I was getting a little worried about the ham being out the whole time. But I hope you have Downey back again some time.
He had some viral video where he was mentally unwell and shouted about being a vampire from Waterloo. He was more sedate last night but I was a little worried before security came. Though the only physical thing was he booped some half passed out drug user on the top of his head.
I had a very weird evening in the ER in Toronto last night. There was very agitated guy there who said to the staff "Do you know who you are? I know who I am. I'm Steve [last name]. Was unfamiliar but thought I'd google since it was very tense before security got there.
@thatbilloakley You maybe had quark in blintzes. It's traditional in Jewish foods like that and cheese knishes and kreplach. Though for practical reasons in America people often use farmer's cheese (or pot cheese) which is slightly drier.
@DrewSav Yoda's landlord would have been pissed. He'd probably lose his damage deposit too. Dagobah seems to be a lawless wasteland so they could probably get away with it.
