Of course the Cumberland Basin project is important for the Green Party, however, it's extremely difficult to discuss all the issues of an area on one leaflet. Keep your eyes peeled as the election campaign continues as we'll definitely be covering it soon!
@stillawake The youth strikes were instrumental in gaining momentum for the environmental movement across the world, but, more locally, they helped raise awareness for many issues (including airport expansion) and encouraged the climate crisis declaration and promise of carbon neutrality π»
@stillawake Given that councillor candidate is not really an official position and doesn't have much effect on the public there haven't been any reports or studies on the matter which I can find - I think age matters more when it has the ability to influence!
@stillawake If you live in the ward you should have received a newsletter talking about: prioritising public transport, the lack of public toilets in the area and development proposals in the ward
Keep your eye out for more of these to come!
π So we declared a climate emergency. But what happens next? And how do we turn declaration to action?
π¬ Join @jon_bartley in conversation with @carla_denyer & @JulianDean99 on 1st Feb at 6pm to discover exactly that.

In dying embers of @realDonaldTrump regime he has just consigned #saharawi to another 40 years in the wilderness, exchanging their right to self determination as a sweetener to a deal between Morocco & Israel @SAHARAWIVOICE@KimJohnsonMP@grahamemorris https://t.co/vBvSwYcGXI
Strange how most bridges to Spike Island benefit people driving across island more than those who live there/want to access it. Best for access is Prince St, but half space surrendered to a handful of cars. More direct foot/cycle routes to Hotwells would be nice @FlowerHeulwen
@JontyFlower@FlowerHeulwen Iβve always thought a pedestrian and cycle bridge from SS Great Britain north to Gassworks Ln and south to Beauley Rd would be a useful link - about halfway round the harbour too.
I am standing for the Green Party in next May's Bristol City council elections for Hotwells and Harbourside. Being the youngest ward in Bristol, I thought Hotwells and Harbourside deserved a councillor who fit into its demographic and made sure its residents are fully represented
Having organised protests on College Green for over a year, I thought it was time to move into the council house to keep pushing for the action we need to combat the climate and ecological emergency. (1/2)
