So far it's successfully generated & tested scripts to:
calculate n-th # in a Fibonacci sequence, calculate the 1st 100 prime #'s, & create a tick-tack-toe game w opposition.

Teams should expose a real-time avatar system with pluggable voice pipelines. Users could drive avatars using local or custom AI voice models via APIs, since Microsoft’s existing Azure stack already supports low-latency conversational avatars, this would unlock AI @MSFT_Business

"I'll tell you the thing that I really want to exist, that I think in 10 to 15 years will absolutely exist - and frankly, I'm surprised it doesn't today.

I want a one-on-one tutoring app that every kid can use. That doesn't need to replace a classroom; it can add on to a classroom. But every single study I've ever seen shows that kids that get individualized tutoring are like standard deviations above kids that don't. So it feels like one of the most clear ways for AI to help make the world a better place.

I mean, it would make my kids way better at school. My kids are very lucky; they get to go to a great school. There are lots of kids around the world who don't get to go to a great school or don't get to go to school at all, but they have access to an Android phone with internet, and ChatGPT is free. So I really want to see that exist in the world.

On the other one - I mean, it's a really hard question over 10 or 15 years. I will say we put a lot of effort into trying to understand the impact of what we're doing and getting ahead of it. We work with like society groups and political groups; we work with red teamers - any possible outside group we can - to try and understand the impact.

I think we're still going to get some stuff wrong. But I've been lucky to work at a bunch of scale tech companies. Every one of them has cared a lot about this and integrity and safety and getting it right. But OpenAI puts more effort into it than any company that I've ever worked at."

Announcing The Stargate Project

The Stargate Project is a new company which intends to invest $500 billion over the next four years building new AI infrastructure for OpenAI in the United States. We will begin deploying $100 billion immediately. This infrastructure will secure American leadership in AI, create hundreds of thousands of American jobs, and generate massive economic benefit for the entire world. This project will not only support the re-industrialization of the United States but also provide a strategic capability to protect the national security of America and its allies.

The initial equity funders in Stargate are SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX. SoftBank and OpenAI are the lead partners for Stargate, with SoftBank having financial responsibility and OpenAI having operational responsibility. Masayoshi Son will be the chairman.

Arm, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Oracle, and OpenAI are the key initial technology partners. The buildout is currently underway, starting in Texas, and we are evaluating potential sites across the country for more campuses as we finalize definitive agreements.

As part of Stargate, Oracle, NVIDIA, and OpenAI will closely collaborate to build and operate this computing system. This builds on a deep collaboration between OpenAI and NVIDIA going back to 2016 and a newer partnership between OpenAI and Oracle.

This also builds on the existing OpenAI partnership with Microsoft. OpenAI will continue to increase its consumption of Azure as OpenAI continues its work with Microsoft with this additional compute to train leading models and deliver great products and services.

All of us look forward to continuing to build and develop AI—and in particular AGI—for the benefit of all of humanity. We believe that this new step is critical on the path, and will enable creative people to figure out how to use AI to elevate humanity.

@sama You’ve scaled up inference time compute and then scaled up the user base; I’m not surprised. Your edge-case-users will be burning gpu time round the clock, potentially on multiple accounts. Only solution seems like rate limiting short term. Post-transformer architecture’s long.

@molly0xFFF The difference is; that open ai has created a truly useful/world changing tool. The specific likes of we have never seen. The world economy + lawmakers at large have been demanding this technology leap for generations.
To compare crypto scams to this case is unjust and unfair.
