For anyone who is wondering - we do not bank with SVB and are not affected in any direct way by recent events involving SVB.

No early stage founder should be paying a DAMN thing to pitch investors or for "guaranteed intros", especially nothing with a comma in the price.
And the orgs/people/funds that ask you to are predatory and exclusionary...period.
I said EXACTLY what I said.
Working on enabling the Fogbeam "AI Blog". We already have an instance of #Apache#Roller running for the current #FogBlog, so it's not hard to add another blog. The tricky part is digging into mod_rewrite to fix up the rules to route to the new blog from https://t.co/gY9sByWO1J
Reading Festinger's "A Theory of Cognitive Dissonance" right now. Wow. Wish I'd discovered this a couple of decades ago. Really good stuff. On multiple levels, not the least of which is thinking about how to incorporate dissonance resolution into an #AGI strategy.
One interesting (and exciting!) aspect of working on embodied #AI is how it's easy to give a machine "senses" that humans *don't* have. For example, #BozBox has a GPS receiver, so it can know (more or less) exactly where it is relative to the surface of the Earth at all times. 🧵
@michael_nielsen New things we find exciting: Graph Neural Networks. And I'd still bet there's something to Hinton's Capsule Networks, or something close to that.
@michael_nielsen Older ideas that still excite us: genetic algorithms and evolutionary computation in general. Cognitive architectures and approaches derived from same (things like SOAR, ACT-R, DUAL, CLARION, etc). BDI models. Blackboard architectures. Constraint satisfaction. Logic programming
@michael_nielsen 2/2 What it can't do is move around on its own, or do much to affect the physical world. It's kinda "read only". But the goal is to experiment with approaches to learning naive / intuitive physics, intuitive metaphysics and epistemology of the world, and so on. See @Bosworth_AI
@michael_nielsen 1/2 A lot of what we're working on right now within our #BosworthAI project involves embodiment, but without "going full autonomous robot". That is, there's a box (#BozBox) that packs in a CPU, sensors, etc. and gets to experience the physical world.
Even with the "threads" stuff and the forthcoming "notes" feature, Twitter is still not ideal for long-form content. As such, look for us to start putting more AI related content on the #FogBlog and linking on Twitter. May start a dedicated "Fogbeam AI Blog" soon.

5/5 We're also using an approach loosely inspired by the old #BDI (Beliefs, Desires, Intentions) model and using the #Jena#RDF triplestore as a knowledge store.
For more on this project, follow @Bosworth_AI!
1/5 What then, is #BosworthAI? Simply put, "Bosworth" is a name for the overall umbrella of #AGI research at Fogbeam. The more specific manifestation of that at the moment is what we call #BozBox.
4/5 On the box itself, the Pi runs a software system with a "cognitive loop" loosely inspired by #SOAR. We use ActiveMQ to provide a "percept queue" and the cognitive loop reacts to incoming percepts.
