A message to Debbie White , the new Chair of @CoopUK
I’m joining @HumaneLeagueUK & others to call upon you to join the #BetterChickenCommitment . You pride yourselves on being an ethical supermarket , but there’s nothing ethical about selling ‘frankenchickens’ for max. profit .
If this goes ahead, it could be a nail in the coffin for #salmon on the rivers Wye, Usk and Severn. EDF wants to ditch the acoustic fish deterrent on its cooling water intake at @hinkleypointc nuclear plant.
Retweet if you think @edfenergy shouldn’t skimp on fish protection.🧵
@SouthernWater Fullerton sewage works. Hundreds of tankers delivering sewage from outside the area and dumping untreated into our beloved #rivertest today in enormous quantities for prolonged periods Illegal levels of harmful toxins yet it continues @EnvAgency allow it 20 days in
@USBEKetRICA I have no idea what this a bit is about but this is the photograph that I took for Getty images a few years ago when I was still a commercial photographer
@TURBOANALlSIS thanks fo saying so, i'm not annoyed btw but just dont want to be caught up in anything..i've spent 20 years teaching sustainability and ecological stewardship so it smarts a bit to be featured on the periphery of this...all the best john
@scrappinrappin @joshual951@thenewgalaxy@BSBIbotany@wildflower_hour@foragefruits please see my response to joshua....This is nothing to do with me and having my picture displayed next to this post is extremely misleading and suggest I condone the exact opposite of what i teach, thanks john
@joshual951@BSBIbotany@wildflower_hour@foragefruits what on earth has this got to do with me? I have never picked even a single stem of this plant let alone a large quantity...having my picture displayed next to this post is extremely misleading
And if you fancy really pushing the boat out, here is a foraging trip right in the truffle heartland of Italy...looks amazing https://t.co/W329TCAXpw https://t.co/W329TCAXpw
John of @ForageLondon found that there is actually "tonnes of the countryside in the city". The belief that foraged food from the city is 'dirty' and from the country is 'clean'... Is just a myth. I'll let John explain in this weeks episode:
