Raising £75,000 for a #sculpture in East Leicestershire to #honour 10th Battalion Parachute Reg and for education#Arnhem #WW2 Registered Charity: 1176669
Some of the plaques I have seen today on the Trail around Somerby, Burrough on the Hill and Thorpe Satchville.
The Stilton Cheese one of the pubs frequented by the 10th still serve excellent food and Ales where I had lunch.
I also visited Owston where L Quiripel VC was billeted.
A big thank you goes to @FareBrian who is the organiser of @MeltonMilHist who recommended I visit The Tenth Parachute Battalion's Trail in High Leicestershire.
Just 36 of the 582 men returned to Leicestershire after they were decimated in OP Market Garden.
Yesterday we said goodbye.
I’m thinking about parking up for good, I want to keep those boys company on this lonely hill.

The Prince of Wales has thrown his "wholehearted support" behind a charity which will build a D-Day memorial in France. #WWII#Normandy75#WW2 https://t.co/1QVY9ZYT6r
