@SenseDense@ComicDaveSmith@vanguard_pod My income is high. But paying $50,000 before I even see a dr is crazy and the annual price increases are nuts. This is not what I would have expected to be happening.
Sure. I paid $3,300 per month this year for a family of 4, and my new premium will be $4,400 to keep the plan in 2027. This is not maga nor political (I voted for Obama, and this legislation has been the worst for me personally over any other legislation that I know of). in 2025 I paid around $2,500 per month. crazy price rises.
I never said paying taxes. I said withholding from a paycheck. Same concept as the advisor taking the fee. When the government withholds taxes, the individual hardly notices. You want clients to have to write a check, so they really know what they are paying. Withholding taxes is the same issue, on a much much larger scale.
@ComicDaveSmith@vanguard_pod Just check the increase in Obamacare plans for 2027… as it effects me (a solo entrepreneur), Obamacare is the absolute worst piece of shit any president has done (to me personally) in my lifetime. A family of four will pay $50,000 in premiums before seeing a single doctor.
Sure. I give the annuity company my money. They invest it to earn x%. They promise me (x-y)%. I give up liquidity, usually. I often give up money to my heirs (sure, rider$). Yes, they provide the guarantee, so if the markets are poor over a very long time period (annuities are long term investments), then I win. I have also seen annuities with all-in expenses over 4%. For most people, just have a diversified portfolio, keep the liquidity and estate plan, and opt out of annuities. Lastly, when I meet someone with annuities, it is almost always the majority of their portfolio and they really have no idea what the issues with it are. What is your best, simple pitch for why I would want them?
@choffstein N is almost certainly much higher than 3. January 1987 for ten years. February 1987 for ten years. March 1987 for ten years. We can make many ten year periods out of the last 39 years.
@devonhaskins You are a huge fucking asshole. You spent time digging up decades old tweets by a teenager just to ruin this man’s life. May mistakes you made as a child come back to ruin your life.

@citrini I had an issue with stubhub where I didn’t get the ticket I paid for. Three email rounds with two employees got me know where. I gave all the info to Claude, who drafted an email, and I got back from stubhub an immediate way to get my money back.
