NEW | CNN report reveals major fire damage and system failure aboard U.S. aircraft carrier during Iran operations

New video obtained by CNN shows extensive internal damage from a fire aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford during its deployment in the Red Sea as part of U.S. war against Iran, contradicting the Navy’s initial claim that the blaze was minor and “contained.”

The footage reveals destroyed sleeping quarters, charred metal, melted ceilings, dangling wires, and unusable bunks, with around 600 sailors reportedly displaced.

A sailor told CNN the fire-suppression system failed, forcing the crew to fight the blaze manually for around 30 hours, with fears the ship could be lost.

Officials acknowledged the fire temporarily disrupted operations, delaying flight sorties for two days and forcing the carrier to dock in Greece for emergency repairs.

The incident exposed broader issues during the deployment, including equipment malfunctions and sanitation failures, while the Navy said the investigation is still ongoing.

Local sources report that the strike coincided with the passing of a Gaza police patrol that had been deployed to contain a family altercation involving gunfire near the municipality park, fitting a documented pattern by the Israeli occupation army of targeting police officers and security personnel in a calculated effort to entrench chaos and lawlessness across the strip.

Since the ceasefire took effect, more than 40 Gaza police members have been killed in similar Israeli occupation strikes, with human rights organisations concluding that the targeting is deliberate.
