A few months ago, @stripe invited me to an interview.
I assumed it was a Zoom call and said yes.
Turns out the Stripe team flew 10,000+ km to Nigeria to film it. For one solo founder 🤯
We talked about stablecoins and building a global company from Nigeria on Stripe... which is a topic I have very strong opinions on.
Stripe has made this nothing but a joy! @FerndeskHQ was incorporated through Stripe Atlas, every customer payment lands via Stripe, and we use Stripe treasury for some of our banking.
I did not expect a payments company to care this much about a one-person business in Port Harcourt. Especially not one that moves almost two trillion dollars a year. But they flew out anyway!
As AI eats the boring parts of running my business, I want the time it gives back to fuel things like this. Showing up for customers in the ways no agent can.
Thanks again Stripe 🙏
Today we’re previewing Private Safety Processing, designed to let us keep offering Zero Data Retention while improving our safeguards. Even when benefiting from frontier intelligence, customers shouldn’t have to give up control of sensitive data.
For ZDR deployments, content stays on infrastructure the customer controls. Automated systems look for patterns across related interactions and return limited safety signals, without exposing the underlying prompts or responses to OpenAI employees (even me!).
We’re also developing an OpenAI-hosted option encrypted with customer-controlled keys. We’re testing this with early customers now and plan to begin rolling it out in September.
In good news, though Apple is still violating the DMA by taxing competing stores, it’s now a revenue proportionate fee (5%) rather than a price per-download which outright rendered all competition economically unviable.
EU citizens deserve better and Epic will fight on.
Apple has launched a new junk fee structure in EU, mirroring the terms in Brazil and Japan.
They’re still unlawfully charging for linked-out transactions (clearly prohibited by DMA), and add prohibitions and friction to herd kids into high-junk-fee Apple payments.
We’re extending the 50% increase to weekly Claude Code limits through August 31.
We hope to make this a permanent change to our plans, but strong demand for our models means that capacity may be tight over the coming weeks. We’ll keep you posted as things develop.
sometimes i’ll see a project that’s so good i genuinely wish i came up with it myself 😭
i’ve been seeing all the girlies making cyberdecks online and i’ve wanted to try building one so badly, but learning how to solder, use a breadboard, buy all the parts, and figure out the wiring felt like so much just to get started
@boringbags built this AI circuit builder where you can learn to make circuits and run real simulations completely online!! he submitted it to the @Replit Designathon and it won 2nd place, which is so deserved. this is seriously so cool 🥹

Insanely valuable @grok@bot automation:
I have an Bee Pioneer AI pin that records my day and then every night at 7 p.m.
I have a Grok Bot called Relationship Coach that hooks into the API and acts as a personal and couples therapist. It tells me how I could be a better partner/business partner/friend etc and gives me advice on navigating my relationships.
