We are part of the largest coastal protection project in U.S. history. By reducing the impact of storm surge, we protect people, environment, and economy.
Our partners at the @EconAlliance and the @GHPartnership brought together leaders from more than 40 organizations for a Joint Committee Field Briefing at @Port_Houston this week. GCPD was there to hear from the experts and see Port operations firsthand. ⚓🚢
@Port_Houston CEO Charlie Jenkins: “In addition to permitting matters, the main topics in these meetings included the need for continued investment in the Houston Ship Channel and other waterways as well as roads, the Coastal Texas Project, the importance of Texas energy exports to the world and the American economy, and the need for investment in modernizing vessel traffic service to ensure safe navigation." @APNews : https://t.co/0huBBIANX4

@NOAA is predicting a below-average season this year, with eight to 14 named storms. Of them, three to six are expected to become hurricanes, including one to three major hurricanes of Category 3 strength or higher, agency officials announced Thursday.
Congratulations @HoustonPubMedia on the launch of the Galveston news bureau. We enjoyed meeting your team and learning about your commitment to local coverage last night at @TheBryanMuseum. #CoastalTexasProject

Let’s keep the momentum going. 🌊
GCPD and @Port_Houston met with @SenJohnCurtis to discuss the importance of the Houston Ship Channel and Gulf Coast region. This is where energy flows, commerce moves, and America’s economy is powered—and it must be protected and prioritized.
