@Avis Hey, First Presbyterian Hartford had a reservation for a van to take a long planned trip to NYC museums. They paid for a guide, museum entrance fees, etc. And your West Hartford location just called less than 20 hours in advance to cancel with no alternative. What gives???
@JustinWolfers No cars = less steel production & use, fewer tires being made, fewer leather seats so fewer cows requiring less feed to raise them, and on & on & on. All that work comprises the GDP and these obviously aren’t associated with DMV work. So no, Elon is absolutely not right.
@jacko2323 Just like Putin’s 2005 Super Bowl victory/ring - another relic commemorating his critical role in a championship he had actually nothing to f’ing do with
@realtonyellis@elonmusk Jerry Nadler’s office had a good write up last year about why this is both unnecessary & even potentially harmful.

@SD4RFKJr24@christweetsllc Want to hear something crazy? You can have NO kids and STILL pay taxes to support the public schools, isn’t that nuts?? It’s almost like the society & public services don’t just magically exist for only you & only when you need them.
@DoYouHaveALens@SteveHamlin@deaflibertarian And 2) Because of that, the implication you made about the burden only being on homeowners and not renters is disingenuous at best
@DoYouHaveALens@SteveHamlin@deaflibertarian You’re extrapolating my statement out to something I didn’t say. The point I was making is that 1) Renters do pay property taxes by virtue of the payments they make to the homeowners they rent from, which take those property taxes into account
@DoYouHaveALens@SteveHamlin@deaflibertarian So…on the rent, do the owners just take that loss? Or do they roll the cost of those taxes into the rent they charge, thus having their renters “pay” it for them? I’ll hang up and listen.
@RudiFL22@MattLesser@Urban2A No it’s not. It’s per $100 spent, not “per product”, and while 3.6% inflation is high historically, it’s not insanely high ( check out inflation in the 80’s)
@RyanWhitePR @Barstooldmv That study was about merging with two lanes dropping to one and it’s correct that a proper zipper merge is more efficient at moving traffic. That’s not what this guy is doing here; he’s using an exit lane not obligated to merge to bypass traffic, slowing the flow to the exit.
#CTDOT Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto will be on @NBCConnecticut “Face the Facts” tomorrow at 10 a.m.! Tune in to hear the Commissioner talk about #IIJA to invest in #CT’s roads, bridges, and more. #IIJA#TeamDOT#WVIT
@SoftballSickles@CamDerbyTV Was kind of thinking the same thing (Red Sox-Oakland in ‘03 had a similar call), but the screenshot clearly shows her foot down on third before the contact, and with how close the play at home was, I can see granting the extra base
