@EddyElfenbein I reviewed the CarFax, saw it had been maintained at a Lexus dealer for most of its life at the proper intervals, and was willing to take the risk.
I got every interior panel replaced under a factory warranty extension (about $12,000 worth of work.)
@EddyElfenbein I bought a Lexus LS460 with 120,000 miles on it for quite cheap, accepting that I would probably put another $4k in it over the next handful of years.
It's been very reliable since. I'll never get it there, but the drivetrain should be good for 300-400,000 miles.
