Ever borrow money, or use crypto, bitcoin, or stablecoin (how is this related? 🤔), you need to read this.
The public needs the pending CLARITY act to pass - with an important change.
We all see some of our customers, friends, and family now starting to dabble around with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies – some experimenting with it and some using it for legitimate purposes for payments. But unfortunately, quite a few being taken in by scams and fraudsters using crypto to drain their accounts quickly and permanently or worse, turning people we know into “money mules” – middlemen involved in highly illegal activity.
The Clarity Act would build on other legislation that puts into place a framework that requires stablecoin issuers to abide by the same “know your customer” regulations that banks and other financial institutions do. This also requires them to monitor activity for fraud. This is great news.
Unfortunately, the Clarity Act does not also prohibit “yield” or “interest” being paid on stablecoin deposits. Without changes, this would eventually mean some deposits leaving banks and being held in stablecoins.
In banking, our deposits are turned around and reloaned to your friends, neighbors, and municipalities for purchasing homes and cars, farm equipment, businesses, and to help school districts and local governments do things like buy computers or build roads. Without these deposits, critical lending activities would dry up. This would affect every bank, and every community.
To be clear, community banking supports the implementation of a stablecoin framework to help speed payments and provide a more frictionless experience for customers.
This is likely part of the payment system of the future. But only if it is done responsibly and with safeguards to protect the communities and customers that we serve.

The best fruit for the brain has to be blueberries.
Anthocyanins are a group of deep red, purple & blue pigments bound in plant-based foods.
They're part of a larger category called flavonoids. These are largely found in fruits like blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
Anthocyanins have been shown to have a whole host of benefits such as improved memory, lowered blood pressure, reduced risk of heart disease + cancer, and prevention of neurological disease.
A collection of 13 studies found that dietary levels of anthocyanins correlated with better processing speed while improving the quality of life in older adults (1).
Another meta-analysis found that anthocyanins were correlated with better focus, memory, reaction time, and overall improved cognitive function (2).
Other foods that contain high amounts of anthocyanins are cherries, pomegranates, black and red grapes, red cabbage, red onions, and the skin of a purple eggplant.
Want a better brain? Start adding blueberries and the other foods mentioned above to your next grocery run.

@SBAgov changed rules to let #farmers get #PPP loans based on gross income. $20,833 per farmer. Thanks! But a Rule fix needed: let #farm partnerships qualify the same. They’re shut out. #ag#change
